He urged devotees to find their true Self, to see Siva everywhere and to live life joyously. He was the 162nd Satguru of the Kailasa Parampara, a 2,200-year-old lineage of spiritual masters originally from South India. It was from his beautiful monastery headquarters in Hawaii that he gave these daily inspired talks.

In this talk:

Today Gurudeva answers a question about whether or not one should donate blood. Gurudeva explains that this will connect one person to another, which is good when done within a family, but may not be so good otherwise. Then Sati in Penang, Malaysia, gets two questions answered. First a short answer about the Aryan invasion theory, which is more and more being dismissed by historians and scholars, and Gurudeva's main discourse today is in response to the caste system.

Today three questions span the subjects of marriage, yoga and the spiritual path. First Gurudeva advises an American e-devotee to join the Hindu religion of his wife-to-be so that he is not always "on the outside looking in." Then Gurudeva debunks the myth of the "sleeping" kundalini, and he guides a young cyber-seeker who asks what his first step should be. Gurudeva stresses, most importantly, never to get angry.

He talks about how a soul might reincarnate into an animal body, about the evolutionary pattern of younger souls and he offers an interesting perspective on taking vows (vratas) and using your willpower to uphold them.

Gurudeva talks about the practice of prayaschitta for those karmas that cannot be resolved by writing them down and burning them. He also says that you would want to write down and detach oneself from the happy things that happened, so that you can go on into more happy experiences.

It was from his beautiful monastery headquarters in Hawaii that he gave these daily inspired talks.

In this talk:

If we see someone doing something that we really dislike, which really disturbs us, is that something that we might ourselves do under the same conditions? This is the question put to Gurudeva today. Gurudeva answers basically, "Yes," and he explains briefly.

Gurudeva counsels a cyber-space admirer who asks about exactly how to implement the ideal of forgiving inwardly at once insults and injuries received, but outwardly only when the transgressor reconciles and apologizes. Gurudeva advises to stand up strong and sure and bring it all out into the open so that it may be resolved. Don't just ignore your family forever, Gurudeva says.

Today we begin posting segments of Gurudeva's inspiring talk from the great holy night of Siva, Mahasivaratri, celebrated by the mathavasi last phase. Gurudeva begins by saying that there are no hard rules for Siva's worship, just to give your whole heart to Siva. Then, Gurudeva offers, Lord Siva will realize himself in you. We haven't heard Gurudeva speak of realization like this before, and he uses this theme throughout the talk. Don't miss it.

A modern mystical master, Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami (1927-2001) was one of the world's most traditional Hindu Saivite spiritual leaders.

Today Gurudeva answers a question about the Tamil Saints of South India. How can we say they did "bad things" if we believe there is "no good, no bad?" Gurudeva also clarifies the type of love that it takes for one to become a Nayanar.

Gurudeva explains the different approaches according to those who are not open to learn, those who are open to learn and those who have learned. Gurudeva says that the Gods help everyone equally according to his stage of evolution and his ability to strive. When Positive Discipline author, Jane Nelson, was visiting Kauai Aadheenam, Gurudeva was asked how a family can have peace in the home. Gurudeva's main point, which he stresses and expands upon here, is that in order to have peace in the home you must have the mother in the home. Today Gurudeva discusses the subtleties of the anava in its internal and external aspects. Gurudeva stresses that the first step of spiritual unfoldment is to harmonize these two so that they are one and the same. When this occurs one becomes a complete person, 24 hours a day, and nothing is hidden, even unto oneself. The best way to accomplish this, Gurudeva says, is through the Vasana Daha Tantra.

Gurudeva says that meditation is finding, or being your real self; prayer is asking for a change in your karmas--and he elaborates. In the middle Gurudeva realizes he forgot to give a break for our Tamil translator. It's a humorous moment in the midst of a deep discussion. Enjoy.

He was the 162nd Satguru of the Kailasa Parampara, a 2,200-year-old lineage of spiritual masters originally from South India. It was from his beautiful monastery headquarters in Hawaii that he gave these daily inspired talks.

In this talk:

Gurudeva asks "What if there were no priests in your temple?" Gurudeva tells us to keep the priests happy and the vibrations in the temple will come up. Sanskrit awakens religion within us. Supreme Energy comes through the soul right from Siva and then we have a darshan too.
