Teaching Yoga in Malaysia
Church members Mr. and Mrs. Umahahesan were at Arulmigu Sithivinaygar temple, Johor Jaya, Johor on 6th December, 2008. Mr Umamahesan, who is also a Yoga teacher offered his seva by conducting weekly class for JB folks. We had a wonderful time, learning the various aspects of yoga techniques (beginner lessons). He interspersed lessons with Gurudeva’s teachings -- Yamas and Yamas. Having traveled from Singapore, they forewent their wedding anniversary celebration and chose to be with us, imparting divine knowledge of ancient health and wellness keeping.
Mr Nathan offered dakshina on behalf of all the students; formal acceptance as yoga teacher.
Beginner students, youngsters and elders alike.
Yoga teacher -- Umamahesan. Practicing yoga for almost 40 years now and teaching professionally for the past 6 years.
Moving forward for an introduction.

Kauai Agricultural Initiative Bumper Stickers
For decades now, the monastery has been called upon to help the community in creative ways. The monks have done Drug Free Kauai DVDs, posters for charities and hundreds of thousands of small cards describing the Spirit of Aloha.
But bumper stickers remain the most prominent, and our designs are seen on thousands of island cars. Stickers to promote island unity and aloha, stickers to spread the message we are all Kauaians despite our ethnic differences, and stickers to give pride and encouragement to teens who are working with drug problems.
Today the Kauai Agricultural Initiative asked the monks to design a bumper sticker to promote gardening and farming on the island. They gave the theme “Got Gardens?” based on the famed “Got Milk?” campaign that became got just about everything.
Here are two designs we came up for their consideration. One day you will see these on bumpers all over Kauai. It’s the Garden Island after all!

Bodhinatha's Latest Upadesha: "Detachment from Experiences; Importance of Daily Vigil" (May 5, 2013)
All experiences are good experiences, necessary to get us here. Awareness of aspects of ourselves that are constantly changing is a liberating perception, breaking our chains to mundane areas, detaching from instinctive and intellectual to go into superconscious. The greatest challenge facing youth today is the lack of relating to the devotional side of Hinduism. Daily practice, daily vigil, moves us forward spiritually. Commentary on Merging with Siva, The Master Course, Lesson 21.
