Darshan with Bodhinatha this morning
Dr. and Mrs. Yoganathan visited Kauai for the first time from Melbourne, Australia. They are originally from Jaffna, Sri Lanka, and knew Yogaswami before they moved to Australia in the 80s. They commented that Kadavul Temple feels very sacred, and appreciated that it's not in the middle of a noisy city.
For Satguru speaks fans, today we posted a new upadesha by Bodhinatha, see the right side bar.
Vaidyisa Bala from Edmonton, Canada, concluded his annual pilgrimage to Kauai today. He enjoyed attending Sivaratri festival and other pujas, and wandering the grounds.
Hari Kumar, his wife Julie and stepson Philip visited Kauai for the first time from Hamilton (near Toronto), Canada. Hari Kumar is from Malaysia originally and Julie from Montreal. They attend the local Richmond Hill Ganesha Temple.
All Monks Photo Shoot with Silpis
Once every now and that we have a big photo shoot of all the monks. Six of the silpis are returning to India in 30 days and Palaniswami is preparing souvenir photo albums for each one as a gift in appreciation for all the work they have done on the temple. Our goal this morning at 7 AM was to assemble all the monks, have good light, no rain and take a photo of each silpi with Bodhinatha and all the monks. The hardest part is getting everyone together at the same place at the same time!
Ahh there we are!
The blessing of our brotherhood is yet another great gift of our Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami. How fortunate we are to be here, together and to have this opportunity to set aside any personal life and serve the Kailasa Paramapara as we whittle down our prarabdha karmas to virtual zero, hopefully letting us fly free in moksha.
Dennis Harness And Friends Visit
Dr. Dennis Harness, President of the American College of Vedic Astrology poses with Paramacharya Ceyonswami, who is the chief priest of Kadavul temple and who also knows and uses Vedic astrology to guide the temple events.

Bodhinatha's Latest Upadesha: "Detachment from Experiences; Importance of Daily Vigil" (May 5, 2013)
All experiences are good experiences, necessary to get us here. Awareness of aspects of ourselves that are constantly changing is a liberating perception, breaking our chains to mundane areas, detaching from instinctive and intellectual to go into superconscious. The greatest challenge facing youth today is the lack of relating to the devotional side of Hinduism. Daily practice, daily vigil, moves us forward spiritually. Commentary on Merging with Siva, The Master Course, Lesson 21.
