Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami Jayanthi Jai!

Happy Birthday Bodhinatha!

(From Natchintanai, By Siva Yogaswami)

“Transcending all mutations of form and attribute,
Surpassing all finite measure is the GURU,
An embodiment of the highest wisdom.”

“Bow to the sacred Feet of the Guru whose holy utterance–the Mahavakiam–points the Way to everlasting bliss.”

“The Lord manifests as Father, Mother and Teacher,
This is how He has made me His own.”

“I want to sing and dance
And serve Him who is manifest in all.
There is then no night nor day
And duality yields to Oneness infinite.”

“Aum Sivayanama! we invoke……
Enlightened are we with that single word
That came from our majestic kingly Guru.”

Tonite at the Aadheenam the monks will hold a quiet celebration and offer our gifts and appreciations to Bodhinatha. Meanwhile in Mauritius and Sri Lanka big celebrations in honor of Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami are underway.

Jayanthi in Lanka

News today from our orphanage in Sri Lanka, where Bodhinatha's 67th Jayanthi was celebrated in style.

Each boy made an offering and a wonderful elaborate puja was performed.

All offered their hands in reverential worship.

Then prostrated before the altar.

Babu, on the left, and his assistant gave a photo of Bodhinatha and a Tamil "Ten Questions About Hinduism" in the Tamil language to each boy.

Then all were fed a sumptuous meal, chanting the Bhojana Mantram to bless the lunch. Jai Satguru Bodhinathaswamiji ki, jai!

More Seed Event Photos

A local Master Course student was at the Kauai Seed and Plant Exchange a few days back and sent these photos. The monastery tent was the most popular of them all, with its unusual variety of plant gifts for the community.

Palaniswami and Senthilnathaswami were asked to open the event with a blessing, chanting "Sahana vavatu…"
