Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami Mauritius Spiritual Park visit

We bring you a few more photos of Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami at the Spiritual Park of Mauritius. In 1986 Gurudeva Sivaya Subramuniyaswami chose this remarkable seven acres of land that hugged the Rempart river just where it emptied into the sea lagoon. Gurudeva liked its remote quietness and how ocean breezes swept over it. Here is Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami meditating at a very quiet spot of the Park.

A cool sea breeze always welcomes you at the Muruga Mandapam.

After a walk on the property Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami had a COM meeting with all the stewards of the Spiritual Park. One of the major concerns was the setting up of larger tent structures around the Ganesha Mandapam to accommodate devotees on Ganesha Homa days. They also talked about the new parking lot.

A MBC Television crew was at the Park for an interview with Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami and to take a few shots at the Park for a documentary on Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami mission in Mauritius.

Meanwhile down the river, Shunmuganathaswami and the sishyas talking about the small waterfront project.

Guests and Pilgrims

Paramacharya Palaniswami’s mother Jean and brother Larry are visiting us for a week.

Here he shows them some of the various projects he’s working on in our publications/media world.

It’s always a blessing to have our mothers’ blessings!

Larry has been also a student of Gurudeva’s teachings for many years.

Visitors yesterday included Rishi and Shradha Bhutada from Houston, Texas. They attended the morning puja in Kadavul Temple, then toured the Iraivan Temple, and subsequently visited the offices of Himalayan Academy and Hinduism Today. Rishi had previously written a wonderful article regarding Hindu youth for Hinduism Today magazine.

Wisweswaran Chittibabu arrived with his wife, Vani, and two sons, Anuraag (10) and Shrey (4). This lovely family is originally from Chennai and they now live in Santa Clara, CA. Anuraag is continuing his study of the Tamil language.

Iraivan Temple construction: jointing of floor stones continues

The floor stones on the west side of the sanctum have all been set in place. The silpis on the left are rounding the top edges of the stones. The silpi on the right is adjusting the edge of one of the standard floor stones. Chidambaram stapathi, left, inspects the architectural drawings and plans the next phase of the work. The two carvers on the right are fine-tuning the base of the next handrailing section which will be installed soon.

Thiruvembavai – Sri Lanka Mission

One of the favorite festivals of Sri Subramuniya Kottam’s children is the Thiruvembavai. Thiruvembavai is a ten day festival that falls between the last week of December and the first week of January.

Everyday for the ten days of Thiruvembavai the Kottam’s children and other villagers arise early in the morning, and gather at the Sri Subramuniya Kottam. From the Kottam the group will walk a parade route that ends at the Sri Shanti Lingam temple while singing Saint Manikavasagar’s Thiruvembavai songs. Then they all attend the puja at the temple.

Bodhinatha's Satsang in Kuala Lumpur

Aravindraj Chandrasekaran and family were very fortunate to be able to spend some time with our beloved Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami who was in Kuala Lumpur briefly in transit to Mauritius.

Their daughter, Rahneya Shivajyothee, had just turned six months old and it was time for her first feeding samskara, performed by Bodhinatha.

Here is the happy mum & baby after the first feeding at the lobby of the hotel. Thank you, Bodhinatha, for this wonderful blessing! Aum Namasivaya!

Silpis Honored in Malaysia

The silpis on their way back to India from Kauai arrived for satsang at the home of Aravindraj in Malaysia. Welcome!

The Pada Puja begins, abhishekam items are poured and arati is performed. It is such a great blessing to be able to perform the padapuja to our satguru!

After the puja, everyone prostrates

The silpis later comment that they feel blessed to be able to attend. They actually sing a song for the satguru, which they often sang while at the aadheenam.

An elder garlands the silpis to honor them. They have done such a wonderful job of building Iraivan Temple. The silpis themselves commented that the experience of building Iraivan Temple was unlike any other and wondered if they would ever get a chance to do something like this again. They spoke about the many blessings they received and prayers that were miraculously answered while they were away from their families to serve our great God Siva on Kauai. Jai to the wonders of Iraivan Temple!

…and jai to the Kailasa Parampara who made this all possible!
