Mauritius Bodhinatha's Visit 2010.

During his short stay in Mauritius, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami paid a courtesy to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Sir Aneerood Jugnauth (right) at the State House at Reduit. A souvenir photo with Acharya Arumugaswami, Kulapati Manon Mardemootoo and Kulapati Rajen Manick.

Bodhinatha signing the visitor's book at the State House.

The state House is a very beautiful castle built in the 18th century and is now the residence of the President. One is impressed by its cool air pervading and its well kept lawns and lush green vegetation.

After leaving the State House, Bodhinatha paid another courtesy visit to the Minister of Education, Culture and Human Resources, Hon. Vasant Bunwaree. Bodhinatha offered a few of the Church publications to the Minister.

Bodhinatha talked about the teaching materials the Himalayan Academy is currently publishing to help Hindus better understand their religious heritage. One was the publication on Hinduism History.

Minister Vasant Bunwaree holding one of the publications on Parenting With Love, said this was a wonderful asset for parents at a time when we often hear issues about child abuse.

A short stop over on the way to the south of the island, at Grand Bassin sacred lake where one is welcomed by the huge statue of Lord Siva. This place attracts thousands of pilgrims during Maha Sivaratree every year.

Blessings from Lord Siva! In Tirumurai 4.81.4, Saint Appar sung the glory of Lord Siva as follows: "If you could see the arch of his brow, the budding smile on lips red as the kovai fruit, cool, matted hair, the milk-white ash on coral skin and the sweet golden foot raised up in dance, then even human birth on this wide Earth would become a thing worth having."
