Bodhinatha in Chennai

Bodhinatha sends us news briefs for several days.

March 27th, Saturday

Om Sivaya, everyone,

Jai Ganapati.

Though today had many appointments, they are all in the GRT Grand hotel–no need to drive all day around a city with high temperatures!

Appointments included Nellaiappan family, Sheela, a small Chennai publisher Samata, our Agama project priest team, Ananth Master Course student from Bangalore, Jiva Kanmanai Thuri and Swapna, a San Marga Trust meeting.

March 28th, Sunday (yesterday in India)

Jai Ganapati.

Day began by attending a gathering at Yogasana Alayam and giving a talk which Nellaiappan translated. The president Kalyanasundarm came to Kauai some time ago and has started a regular homa with prayer burning as one of their activities.

Back to the hotel and a few meetings with Sriram, an online devotee, a neighbor of Nellaiappan’s who is doing a translation, the Manivel family and lunch at the hotel with Gunalan.

Afternoon was a trip to Chinmaya Mission for a talk and questions answers with a gathering of their youth.

Evening was a meeting with Dr. Ganapati. He is the chief editor of the Tirumantiram translation. He has a deep appreciation for the Siddha tradition and on the monistic versus pluralistic debate takes the monistic side. He translated two of the chapters (tantras) of Tirumantiram himself and coordinated the translation of the rest.
