Jai Ganapati

March 29th, Monday

Drove from Chennai to Tiruvannamalai checked in to Hotel. Lunch and then to the Siva temple for archana at 2:30. Were taken close to the murtis in the Siva and Parvati main shrines. Powerful vibration so close.

Short rest and then we drove to the temple and began our Giri Vallam at 6:30 PM. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to complete the 14 kilometer pilgrimage, around the hill — a bit challenging on the feet going barefoot with so many loose stones to walk on.

It was the full moon day, so the proper day for giri vallam. Easily over 100,000 participating.

Mar 30th

Drove from Tiruvannamalai to Pondicherry. Paid a visit to the French Institute of Indology. Evening six pm meeting at hotel with Sundaramurti Sivachariar from Bangalore gurukulam plus a few of his students.

Mar 31st

Visited a printer used by Samata Publishing, nearby Ganesha temple, another visit to the institute. Received a first portion English translation of Gnana Amritam from Dr. Ganesan.

Drove to Chidambaram after lunch. Evening meditation at the temple. and meetings with the Dikshitars.

April 1st

Special 8 AM archana at Chidambaram, then drove to Tiruvavaduthurai Aadheenam and met the Kartar who was on silence. Talked about Agama project and their collection. Then to Swamimalai and Kuberan Sthapathi’s place to see the Aavudaiyar. It turned out to be a media event with with lots of reporters including Sun TV to show off the Aavudaiyar! Selvanathan and Pooni were there as well.

Next down the street for archana at Swamimalai Murugan Temple and finally drove to Thanjavur for the overnight at Sangam Hotel.
