Bodhinatha in Tanjavur, Pillaiyarpati, Madurai
April 2nd
Om Sivaya, everyone,
Jai Ganapati.
Morning visit to Brihadeeswarar temple then a drive to Kovilur to visit Kovilur Mutt and it’s head, our long time friend, Nachiappa Gnana Desika Swamigal. We had a good conversation. He mentioned he feels Gurudeva is very close to him and helping him regularly. In the afternoon, we drove to Pillaiyarpati where we had archana to the Ganesha, tea and then a three hour gathering for opening a public library at Pichchai Gurukal’s Veda Agama Pathasala. Picchai Gurukal, as was expected, took time to show us the painting we did for him of the gifting of Agamas. A late drive to Madurai got us to our hotel by 11 PM.

Sadhu Paksha At Kauai Aadheenam
The monks are enjoying Sadhu Paksha. The normal morning group arati and meditation is replaced with sadhanas performed on one’s own. One such was Gurudeva’s recommendation to “just wander on San Marga as a sadhu with no place to go, sit by a tree and merge with nature.”

Bodhinatha's Latest Upadesha: "Detachment from Experiences; Importance of Daily Vigil" (May 5, 2013)
All experiences are good experiences, necessary to get us here. Awareness of aspects of ourselves that are constantly changing is a liberating perception, breaking our chains to mundane areas, detaching from instinctive and intellectual to go into superconscious. The greatest challenge facing youth today is the lack of relating to the devotional side of Hinduism. Daily practice, daily vigil, moves us forward spiritually. Commentary on Merging with Siva, The Master Course, Lesson 21.
