Innersearch Kauai 2010 Diary – Day Five

Reporting on June 16, 2010:
Our last day at Camp Sloggett in Koke’e began with a spirited yoga class, pranayama and meditation with Sivakatirswami and Kumarswami. It had been a cold night and the morning was still chilly, but after many Surya Namaskarams we were thoroughly warm and ready for another exceptional day.
We headed to an outdoor area for a puja honoring Satguru Yogaswami and all felt the specialness of this small puja and the connection that we have with our lineage. Palaniswami shared the history of two of the few photos that exist of Yogaswami. Both taken by a young boy in Sri Lanka: the first (Yogaswami sitting in meditation) was taken without Yogaswami’s prior knowledge and the second (sitting in a chair on a porch) with his agreement.
Packing for our return journey took only a few moments as we brought only backpacks with us to the camp. We were sad to leave. It had been a wonderful three days of classes, so much good food, opportunities to enjoy this actinic location and extraordinary entertainment. The purity of this place had added to our meditations and inner experiences.
We boarded the bus once more, headed for Kaua’i Beach Resort, with a stop for a delicious lunch at the Hanapepe Bakery Cafe and an hour of retail therapy at the nearby art and gift shops.
Stay tuned for additional diary entries in the days to come!
Aum Namah Sivaya.
