Innersearch Kauai 2010 Diary – Day Seven

Reporting on June 18, 2010:
Our morning class with Paramachrya Palaniswami began with a video presentation of the Kailasa Parampara. Sevaral stories were read by the swamis from a book they are working about the guru lineage. Paramacharya Palaniswami shared the story of James George, a Canadian diplomat who met Yogaswami several times during his time in Ceylon, as Sri Lanka was then known. Chellapaswami and Yoganathan's story was read by Acharya Kumarswami. A story about Gurudeva's return from Jailani Caves after Self Realization was read by Sannyasin Senthilnathaswami.
Paramacharya Palaniswami gave a profound message on the power of a temple, how it sustains us when we go through different stages in life, and as Gurudeva described it, acts as a safety net during difficult states of mind, keeping our awareness in the higher chakras.
Palaniswami also informed us that despite the fact that Gurudeva did not have any direct access to the Agamas he somehow had insight into the ancient scriptures. According to a Sivacharya, mystically, many of his teachings, writings and practices are based on Agamic literature.
Later we had a wonderful abhishekam to the outdoor Narmada Lingam while chanting Sri Rudram. This was followed by boarding a bus to Kalaheo, where we enjoyed a pizza and salad lunch at Brick Oven Pizza. We reboarded the bus and reached Port Allen, where some Innerseachers had chosen to spend their free time with a catamaran adventure. The bus then continued to Salt Pond Beach to drop off the remaining Innersearchers. Those on the catamaran enjoyed magnificent views of the Na Pali coast, dancing fish and spinner dolphins, and breathtaking views of the sunset. This was complimented by a delicious Mediterranean dinner onboard, and the opportunity to dive into the ocean to swim made this adventure extremely memorable. Those who had chosen to spend their time at the Salt Pond Beach enjoyed a lovely dinner served at Hanapepe Cafe.
