Kulapati and Kulamata Satya and Savitri Palani
The Palani family is one of the most senior sishya families in our fellowship having been with Gurudeva since the early ’70s. They contributed to the monastery by raising a son who is one of our swamis.
They have been helping out with hosting today and had darshan with Bodhinatha this morning.
Satya has helped with many tile projects in our temples through the years and Savitri is a skilled seamstress who has also helped with monks’ clothing. Thank you both for all you do and are!
Big Tour Day
A beautiful group of souls on today’s tour. Many heartfelt testimonies of “thank you” and appreciation to the monks for opening their home and gardens for all to enjoy this morning.
We count about 80 in this picture and there were others who came later.
The gardens of Kauai Aadheenam lend their own silent message of love to our guests as they walk by.
Bodhinatha makes it a point to promote inter-religious harmony on Kauai and around the world. Joining us today was a local group from St. Raphael Parish in Koloa. Their church, built in 1841 is the first Catholic church built on Kauai. Ironically their pastor is from South India.
Jan Maire and Joeseph. Residents of Colarado and Lawaii, respectively. They have recently returned from South India where they pilgrimaged to many temples including the “Arupadaiveedu” of Lord Muruga. They are modeling their new Rudraksha purchases!

Bodhinatha's Latest Upadesha: "Detachment from Experiences; Importance of Daily Vigil" (May 5, 2013)
All experiences are good experiences, necessary to get us here. Awareness of aspects of ourselves that are constantly changing is a liberating perception, breaking our chains to mundane areas, detaching from instinctive and intellectual to go into superconscious. The greatest challenge facing youth today is the lack of relating to the devotional side of Hinduism. Daily practice, daily vigil, moves us forward spiritually. Commentary on Merging with Siva, The Master Course, Lesson 21.
