Bodhinatha Visits Yogaswami's Hut

Yesterday, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami and Sannyasin Shanmuganathaswami visited Yogaswami's Colombuthurai hut. From 1914 until Yogaswami's mahasamadhi in 1964, the little hermitage in Columbuthurai served as his abode and ashram. Devotees would gather daily to be with the guru, sing, receive his guidance on the path and enjoy his upadeshas and radiant spiritual presence. Yogaswami's hermitage had the simple austerity of a monk's quarters. In the main room there was a neem-wood platform that was his bed at night and his seat during the day. Behind a curtain he kept the sandals of his guru, which he worshiped each day with camphor. It was in his thatched hut in May of 1949 that Yogaswami touched Gurudeva's soul and changed our lives forever.

In a Nutshell, In YogaSwami’s Aashramam, the
Very first Day of Swami’s entry to the Aashramam, shifting from the
adjoining “ILLUPAI TREE” area, (where he lived under the Tree, for
almost two years on the strict instruction, of his GURU Chellappa
Swami), there has been a Strong Spiritual Vibration, till to-date;
It is like , a Battery gets fully charged with Power, the inner spiritual
feelings of the Sincere Devotees too, get purified & get matured, with
some SPIRITUAL Clarity!
For a long time,(Even to-date) , Swami’s many Devotees,of all walks
of Life, at the time of building a new Home, they used to collect a
handful of Soil, just outside the Aashramam area & put it in the
Foundation, to receive Swami’s Blessings! It is full of
Spiritual Vibration, with BLESSINGS!
Self experienced many wonderful Memories, in the Aashramam
itself, in my Childhood Days! The timings are from morning 06:00
a.m. to !0:00 p.m.
Moreover, Thavathiru Yogswami initiated & Blessed Sivthiru Sivaya
Subramuniya Swami(Gurudeva), as well as Sivathiru Santhaswami
too, in the very same HOLY Aashramam! It is the real yardstick of
the Power of Spiritual Vibration, in the Aashramam!!! Aum!
In short, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylan Swami’s Holy Visit to
Yogaswami’s Aashramam, shall be considered as the GREAT
MERGING of Guru Parampara, in the HOLY Aashramam!

The look of delight on Satguru Bodhinatha’s face and the lift in his step, as he approaches Yoga Swami’s ashram are priceless. This is also the place where Yoga Swami composed the Natchintanai and developed it with his devoted disciples for so many years. No wonder the vibration is so palpable, as Thillaiampalam Sivayogapathy so poignantly points out in his beautiful commentary, above.
The photographs and their captions prompt me to ask two questions:
Are Chellapa Swami’s sandals still present for worship at the ashram?
What is the state of rebuilding the second floor of the Yogaswami Girls Home, after the damaging fire, earlier this year?
