Aum! The Holy pair of “THIRUVADI” , which is placed on
the”PEEDAM” (Mount), is BLESSING ALL DEVOTEES of GURU
PARAMPARA, for the last 60 years! in fact, SIVATHONDAN
NILAYAM, JAFFNA was ceremonially opened, on the
04th November,1954.
On the instruction of our Great ParamaGuru Yogaswami, the Land
cum old existing was purchased ,from a Chettiyar , by advancing the
Money, by my beloved father Late Mr.A.Thillaiampalam & after
one year or so the new Building Project was started, under the direct
supervision of my beloved Father, as per the command by Swami!
Swami was very particular, to have a MEDITATION HALL, in the
upper floor of the Building; As we ALL know very well,Swami’s Prime
Teaching was “NITHYAM THIYANAM SEI” (DO MEDITATION
DAILY”)! From the day one ABSOLUTE SILENCE is Maintained, until
to-date!
Satguru Bodhinatha Veylan Swami mentioned in his first Spiritual
Lecture, at Richmond Hill Temple Hall that, he really appreciated &
experienced by himself to the Maximum, the ” SIVA THIYANAM
“PRACTICE (MEDITATION), in the Atmosphere of ABSOLUTE
SILENCE!, in the MEDITATION HALL, of Sivathondan Nilayam,
Jaffna, about 40 years ago! Yes! Of Course, there is always a
SPIRITUAL VIBRATION!
Even the Holy BELL is NOT rung, during the “THIRUVADDY PUJAS”,
as per Swami’s instruction!
The Holy THIRUVADDY was carved from the Best Quality
SANDALWOOD LOG; In fact, my beloved father purchased the same
& gave it the leading Aasariyar (STHAPATHY), namely Mr.Thambu
Aasariyar in our Village Vaddukoddai, who is THE SPECIALIST
in making various types of Charriots (“THER”) & “VAAHANAM”
(Vehicles), to carry Deities in Hindu Temples,( during Festivals),in
the whole of Jaffna Peninsula.
The Holy THIRUVADDY was made , along with a small stage(ALL
SANDLEWOOD), by Mr.Thambu. ; Subsequently, it was taken to
Jaffna town & Silver coating was given to the whole unit, by a
leading STHAPATHY of INDIAN origin, who was a real SPECIALIST
in such Silver metal jobs! (His Work shop was very near to
Vannarpannai Sivan Temple,Jaffna, where Yogaswami always visit,
almost daily & walk around that area!)
Later, My beloved Father & I took the whole unit & washed well at
our “Thillai Vasa” Home & kept it in out Home Prayer Room, at the
Feet of Lord Sivan & my father performed Puja for three days,
to the HOLY THIRVADDI, for PURITY & later we wrapped it with a
new Silk cloth & took it to Yoaswami’s Columbuthurai Aashramam
on my Lap in the ROVER car & We entered the Aashramam!
On the instruction of Yogaswami, I took the HOLY THIRUVADDI on
my Head & kept it under the THIRUVADDI of CHELLAPPA Swami !
& kept Flowers on both THIRUVADDIS (GURU & Disciple) & lit
camphor on the Camphor Stand ; Then Swami , My Father & I
Chanted Thevaram, Thiruvasaham , Sivapuranam &
NATCHINTHANAI.
The HOLY THIRUVADDI was kept for two weeks at the Aashramam ,
for the HOLY Ritual observations,by Our ParamaGuru Yogaswami
himself!
Finally ,With Swami’s permission, we took the HOLY THIRUVADDI
to the Sivathondan Nilayam , Jaffna, on the 04th November,1954
morning & placed it on the Shrine , in the Meditation Hall;
Later, on the same day morning, ABISHEKAM & PUJAS were done
for the HOLY THIRUVADDI & now it is FINALLY installed with
PURITY & VIBRATION.!!!
GREAT Experience, with a HOLY MEMORY too!
