Satguru Simhasanam

As most CyberCadets know, Bodhinatha receives visitors in the Guru Peedam and also conducts the daily one-hour Shum meditation there with all the monks present. The seat upon which he sits is called the Simhasanam or "Lion's Seat," and is traditionally the place of deepest authority for the lineage, a kind of spiritual throne.

Recently devotees were inspired to have new cushions, pillows, bolsters and drapes made in India and shipped to Kauai. All of this was assembled three days back, bringing a great light and beauty to this central and holy space.

When he first sat on the new Simhasanam, Bodhinatha quipped, "It's beautiful. I felt as though I should be levitating."

The embroidery was done in Gujarat, with much love and devotion and clearly a lot of artistic skill. there's more....

The team had four sets made, each of a different color and design theme, so the Simhasanam can be upgraded every season, every four months when we change the flag and change our study of Gurudeva's trilogy.

Archives are now available through 2001. Light colored days have no posts. 1998-2001 coming later.
