Ganesha's Royal Purple Regalia

Recently, Jigisha Patel of Chicago coorindated a major project of having dozens of garments made in India for the monastery's Deities. Not only for the Gods of Kadavul Temple, but also Gurudeva's shrine and our humble Hanuman shrine in the temple, the Nepali Ganesha shrine at the beginning of Tiruneri, Kadavul Temple's side shrines, our San Marga Deities, etc. This is a purple outfit which she had her friend and seamstress in India, Mrs. Uma, create. More photos of her other marvelous creations to come...

A Big Thank you to Jigisha and Uma for sharing their creative side with us and bringing vibrant colors and patterns to this magical place. Apart from making several sets of clothes for each deity in Kadavul, they both tirelessly created beautiful curtains and clothes for Gurudeva’s shrine, made several sets for Satguru’s Simhasana and they did not stop until they made clothes for every deity of Siva’s sacred grounds. My personal favorites are beautiful Aasanas that they both created for Satguru’s seat during weekly homas. Mahalo?
