Gurudeva joined about 4,000 Hindus at the Ganesha Temple in Hamm for the sacred annual grand chariot festival. This was an optional excursion just days before the ship's departure.

The Sri Lankan Tamil community planned a special event for Gurudeva at the Highgatehill Murugan Temple to celebrate his return to Europe after many years.

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2001: Brande & Herning
Our arrival in Denmark was on the auspicious day of Ganesha Chathurti. Upon disembarkation in Copenhagen the group boarded buses for a 5 hour ride through the Danish countryside for the town of Brande located in the central part of the Mid-Jutland. Later that evening, after checking into Hotel Dalgas, the group attended and an animated event at the Sri Ganesha Temple in Herning to celebrate Lord Ganesha's birthday.
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2001: Brande
The evening of August 22nd saw us at the Sri Abhirami Amman Temple in Brande for the grand foundation laying ceremony of their new temple.
Friday, August 24th, 2001:Brande to Copenhagen
The group makes its way back to Copenhagen for individuals to catch flights to their respective countries.
