Realizing God Painting

This project is dedicated to the next generation of Hindus of all nations, that they may be able to learn, sing and be transformed by the profound teachings of one of the 20th centuries greatest siddhas. If you absorb the teachings of the Natchintanai, you will know the essence of Sanatana Dharma. This is a work in progress.

 

Project Overview

This initiative to propagate the songs of Satguru Siva Yogaswami is a work in progress. Of the some 300 Natchintanai, we offer a selection of 72 of Yogaswami's songs in Tamil as PDF's with an easy-to-read, non-academic transliteration, English translation and samples audio files with traditional melodies. Recordings include professional artists, groups and soloists using simple traditional tunes that anyone can follow. While the focus for the digital archives is to get recordings by living elders who sang the songs during Sivayogaswami's time, using tunes that are traditionally used by Sivayogaswami's devotees, we also include a diversity of recordings by different individuals and groups. The ID for each song is it's page number in the Sivathondan Society 1997 Tamil edition, which you can purchase at our Minimela Online Book store. Not all increments--translations, svarams sample audio files, etc. are available for all songs, but will come on line as we get them done. In addition to the 72 selected songs we hope to have, eventually, a large diversity of audio recordings for *all* Natchintanai. If you know of any Yogaswami devotees or singers who would like to offer their versions of the songs to be included on our web site, please send a note to studyhall@hindu.org Digital audio files are preferred, .aif, .mp3, .wma are all acceptable. If you record with a tape casette recorder, please use a microphone if you can so as to avoid machine noise, and make sure your input volume is good (otherwise the audio is too low volume). Songs sent on cassettes may appear not here for some time as it takes time digitize and break out individual songs.
