Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami Receives U Thant Peace Award

UN PEACE SUMMIT WILL ALSO BE ATTENDED BY GURUDEVA

A few days after the Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami Receives U Thant Peace Award ceremonies, Gurudeva will join a stunning galaxy of world leaders for a remarkable, historic event at the United Nations. On August 28th and 29th for the first time in history world spiritual leaders will meet in the UN General Assembly Hall for the MILLENNIUM WORLD PEACE SUMMIT OF RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL LEADERS. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan will preside, and Ted Turner of CNN fame will bring the event to the world on his global TV network. The purpose of this gathering is to bring to bear the considerable moral and spiritual weight of world religions to resolve human conflicts and wars.

Gurudeva has been invited to represent Hinduism, and will be among the leaders of a significant group, most of whom are coming from India for the Summit. Following these two days, leaders will meet privately at the Waldorf-Astoria in working sessions to confront the many predicaments the human race faces. Gurudeva will be holding several booksignings in NY, Chicago and Memphis, Tennessee during his August-Setpember journey to mainland America.
