Ok, I promised. So here goes. . .a recipe!

Selludurai Green Mango Pickle #5/with curry leaves

Cut the mangoes into small pieces. This should be about 4 cups. Mix the mango pieces with the salt and keep it for a day. Take the salt water from it and boil. Keep it aside to get cold. Splutter the mustard seeds, fenugreek and the curry leaves in oil and after reducing the fire put the chili powder and saute for some time. Add the mustard seeds without the skin, mix well and take it off the fire. When cold add the mango pieces, asafetida and the liquid, mix well and fill in air tight jars or bottles. About 4 medium bottles.

Now, for some REAL news: This amazing report just came in yesterday from Malaysia shows Lord Ganesh, the Elephant Faced God, really does have things under control:

"There is an Amman Temple, about 3 km from our place. (northern Malaysia) And every year (mid July-mid August) there will be a month long festival-cum-puja. Not far from this temple is a very big and beautiful lake where Amman devotees bath and take water for the puja and festival. Recently, the state government stopped the Hindus from taking water from the lake and placed a sign post saying "mosque building site'. Yes....the state government had planned to build a mosque right on the lake. Every Hindu in town was upset because for the past 100 years or so.....the lake was used by the Hindus and now Hindus are forbidden from touching the water. A week ago, despite the 'law' many Hindus went as usual to bath and take water from the lake.Police and riot police immediately stood guard. Situation was very unhealthy. However.....it's okay now. BUT like a miracle, ever since that day, clear water has been gushing forth from LOrd Ganesha's main sanctum floor, in another nearby shrine (close to the Amman Temple). It is still flooding......Hindus and Chinese are flocking the shrine. We went too. It is unbelievable......like Lord Ganesha telling the HIndus..."Let go off the lake, I will make another lake for you". OUR LOVING GANESHA IS SHOWING HIS LOVE AGAIN AFTER THE MILK MIRACLE
