and cackles endlessly. The turtle lays a thousand eggs and remains silent. Be like the turtle, not like the chicken! Yesterday Gurudeva worked for four hours on the digital recording of his merging with Siva lessons, taken from his latest and soon to be published masterpiece. We call this trilogy his legacy books. He is bringing together these divsrse teachings given over 5 decades, into a one articulation and spoken in his own resonent voice.
The monastery took delivery of a giant load of organic fertilizer yesterday, and it turned into an adventure (for us, a minor disaster for those delivering it). It had rained heavily, and the large truck bringing the tons of plant nutrients along our half-mile long back entry road, decided to get off the road a little, to avoid some hanging vines. His truck slowly slipped down and down as thewet grass sloped toward the Narmada Stream. Down he went, caught in the arms of a large banyan tree! Had it not been for the tree, he would have ended up in the water 30-feet below! Hours and hours passed as teams tried to extract him, until finally he hired a towing company to bring him back on flat ground again. Our four pilgrims traveling in India and elsewhere arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, last night and called to give a full report of their last 10 days in South India. They spoke of the three days at Rameshvaram on the Southern coast, bathing in the 22 wells that are said to purify the pilgrim, remove his or her sins, each well dedicated to a different human frailty! They are feeling quite blissful, as you can imagine. They met on their last night in India with our wonderful artist, Manivelu, and his wife, honoring him for his rich and important contributions this year, to the books, to the magazine, to the recent special supplement for Iraivan Temple. So, to further honor him and his work, we are releasing a few more of Manivelu's paintings done for Merging with Siva. This is an exclusive showing, nowhere else on the planet can you find these images except here. Today.
A nice rain felllast night, and we found Chola, the lost cat. She was huddled, shivering, in a pasture. An injured leg had kept her from coming home and one of the yogis found her in the dark. She is recovering well this morning.
