What`s Happening Today?

"Anava could seem

like spirituality,

but reality it's

only spirit duality."

Gurudeva

It's Sun 6 today, Sunday and Deepavali time, one of the great Hindu festivals where light fills every home, temple and village. That's our six-foot bronze Siva as Vinadhara, aloft a mountain of bromiliads.

Be sure to listen to the talk today by Gurudeva. It is such an important key to not only spiritual progress, but to healthy minds, pure hearts and relationships. It is all about having the courage to work thing out daily, not to let them pile up until the subconscious is full of old, unresolvable regrets and bad thoughts.

Do take a moment and listen to the talk. It's only ten minutes or so.

Oh, I should mention to everyone that yesterday we established two aliases which will make access to this daily site easier, especially if you ever want to tell a friend how to find the page! Before it was the usual alphabetif mumbo-jumbo.

Now to get to Gurudeva's daily inspired talk just go to:

It's also visitor's day at the monastery, and wonderful guests have been with us all morning, enjoying the grounds. We especially were so happy to have among us Arthur Brownstein and his yoga-teacher wife, Nutan, and their new son Shantanau.

Also Dr. Krishna Kumar and his family came. And so many others.

This is Skandanathaswami, inspired during his Sanskrit chant that opened his talk to visitors today, where he explained to one and all how our monks live each day.

Here are our visitors gathered in the Orchid Mandapam which overlooks the Wailua River, taking a moment to relax and talk among themselves and the swami and yogis.

And there they all are together. We hope you all had a wonderful morning here in paradise.

We end the day with a little screen shot of a stylish bumper sticker that our young upakurvana, Ananta Palani, designed this morning for the county. We are working with the mayor's office to spread the ideal of all the varied cultures on our island being a one peoples, Kauaians. So we developed a bumper sticker for locals to use on their cars and trucks and whatever.
