Gurudeva

Here’s a great class that’s held each week in Malaysia by our members. Guhan Sivalingam is the inspiration for the class in Klang. Look at all those sweet faces, all learning Saiva Dharma at the feet of their elders. Passing it on to the next generation. Congratulations to our tireless teachers! Lucky kids!

Sun 3 today, and as we mentioned yesterday, it's JAZ WEEK. Gurudeva didn’t much like the word deadline, so he called that day JAZ day, and it’s two days away, so the intensity is building.

Today Gurudeva's audio talk today focuses once again on Send any and all questions you want him to speak about to: kumar@hindu.org

From Memphis, Tennessee, a long way away, came today’s visitors to the monastery. Here are Mr. and Mrs. Pradad Duggirala on the left and Kishore and Vijaya manne from Albequerque, New Mexico, on the right after spending some time at Gurudeva’s feet, talking about all the wonderful things happening at the big temple they run back home.

We want to thank them, belatedly but abundantly, for lovingly hosting our two sannyasins in their town a few months back, and we want to invite them back again. Soon!

Just a reminder to all those experiencing winter coming on that Kauai is the Rainbow Capital of the World. Many do not know that it takes two staff members four hours a day just to keep count.

By the way, the first photo on the spirit of the day page is of Gurudeva and Sannyasin Shanmuganathaswami meeting in the little Kutir hut that is on the banks of Rishi Valley Lake. They are going over today’s questions from members, naming of babies, marriage arrangements, classes, family home evening meetings, karma yoga projects and such.

A shy hybiscus enters the world this morning, just after a light tropical sprinkle.

A bit of humor from a TAKA visitor:

Why is it bottled lemon juice contains mostly artificial ingredients but dishwashing liquid contains real lemons? If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?

This jewel is thunbergia Mysorensis, a gargantuan vine from Mysore, India. It’s remarkable, capable of taking over a city block and it has these dangling flowers on it every day of the year, though more in summer. It has a sweet nectar that the parrots love to drink. Wow!
