Yesterday's light rain grew in strength today, and a torrent fell as Siva's blessing upon the sanctuary this morning. Gurudeva invited all the Sivasevaks to join the swamis in the meditation hall this morning, rather than sitting at the river today. With Gurudeva in lotus seated upon the peedam, we were guided into our morning meditation, deeper and deeper, then deeper as Gurudeva took us all to the Quiet Within, what Yogaswami called "Summa," then into the center of that Quiet, and the center of that to the brink of the Absolute. Gurudeva guides the meditations in his mystical Shum language each day.
Sri Sri Swami Pragyanand Maharaj of Delhi arrived yesterday afternoon. His feet were washed and he sat with the monks in Kadavul Temple, telling spiritual stories and reminding us how blessed we all are to be here with Gurudeva, serving and doing sadhanas. He heard from our young aspirants about their life, what brought them to Gurudeva's Feet, what their aspirations are. Swami told them they were in the morning of their life, and that they need to have firm faith. Faith so strong it will not flinch when bad times come or difficulties arise. Faith that is unflinching, solid, certain. Faith that is free of all doubts, for it is doubts that will take us away from the spiritual path in hard times. So find faith, cultivate faith and live in the security of faith.
In the afternoon Swamiji went to the publications building where the team showed him the web. Not only showed him, but created his own web page on the spot. Photos were taken and scanned and jpeged, text was scanned and coded, and within an hour Swami had his own page on the Great Internet. We took a photo of our beloved swami walking near the Plumeria trees with a big smile, as you can see if you visit him and his great dharmic mission at his new web page (click here).
Gurudeva made an announcement that his editing team will spend this entire month on the special issue of Hinduism Today that is being prepared, to be called Island Temple. We will tell you all more about this tomorrow.
