A hard tropical rain greeted
us all as we came to the temple
this morning for puja,
but by mid morning it moved on
and left the sky blue and ready
for the daily rainbow counters
to do their work.
Jai Ganesha! This is the stone Nepalese-style Ganesha that greets visitors to Kauai's Hindu Monastery, and guardians the monks whenever they leave the property.
This is Gurudeva and Tyagi Shanmuganathaswami walking along the Pihanakalani Trail this morning, past the falls and pond in the valley behind them. They just finished what we call the "karma scan of the day," reviewing the day's needs of our members worldwide. [Nice photo, Jivananda!]
Yesterday our visitors came a little late so we did not get them on the page, but here they are. Mr. Krishaswami and his family have been supporters of Hinduism Today for 16 years. That's a long time, and we were so happy he could finally visit our editorial offices under an old mango tree. He said a lot of sweet words, powerfully testing our vow of humility. They are talking here with Acharya Kumarswami, discussing the book production, no doubt. Mahalo nui loa, for such wonderful patrons.
Talk about gratitude. We have a jabong tree near Kuamoo road that is heavy with the fruits of its labors. Literally hundreds of vollyball size grapefruit-like fruits are bending the limbs toward the ground. What a gift! And they're free!
Important notice: Many of you don't yet know that each day Gurudeva is recording a new and delightful MERGING WITH SIVA lesson. You can find this each day under the LESSON OF THE DAY button. go there and click on the audio track! Wow! it even has the text you can follow, or print out, or send to a friend if it is particularly relevant. We encourage everyone to go to this new audio lesson.
