Today Gurudeva spoke in depth about confession. It means confiding one's secrets to the Guru and to one's parents. It was a keynote address to all the householder disciples, devotees and the monks. When one gets into secrecy and is not honest or open and constantly affirms the mantra 'DON'T TELL GURUDEVA' then this slowly creates distrust and a rift that would eventually disrupt the relationship between the members of the household or between the monks and the Guru. The mistake is to feel that one would be berated or ashamed for confiding. But actually healing takes place and there is a feeling of trust and of release.

Gurudeva made it clear that even if one does keep secrets but practises spiritual disciplines sincerely, when purification occurs within them, the truth eventually comes out. Gurudeva admonished that when problems arise, whether personal or what someone else is going through, let it be known to the Guru or the parents. Share everything. Communicate. Do Tell, Don't Don't Tell.

That's Gurudeva on the phone with Easvan Param today, who is leaving California with his wife Devi in a few days for India, traveling for several weeks to all the holy temples.

New! Satguru Speaks Again!

: Can you keep a secret? That's too bad. Hear Gurudeva tell why. The "Don't tell Mom. Don't tell Dad" syndrome will eventually tear a family apart. Gurudeva also states again what makes a home a home, different from a mere house or hotel.B>Today's Cybertalk: Gurudeva concludes his talk on Silence today. Hear how professionals control their speech to achieve their business goals. Learn how to set aside for yourself a weekly period of silence. And be ready to laugh along with Gurudeva as he plays upon the sometimes awkward moment of "breaking the silence."

HereÍs Gurudeva with the Mayor of our beautiful island, Maryanne Kusaka. Gurudeva and Acharya Palaniswami left to the MayorÍs office this morning along with Brahmachari Nanthakumar to propose a plan for the island's future.

He told the mayor about an Aloha Year that would bring all the island communities and regions together once every four years for special events and visitor activities.

The mayor loved the idea, and got on the phone to connect with Susan Kanoho, head of Kauai's visitors' Bureau.

Standing to the left of Gurudeva is Barbara Curl who came along to share the island's spiritual vision and to help present the novel idea from Gurudeva to the Mayor. Barbara is a remarkable woman, and is responsible for the three years of monthly gatherings of the Vision Kauai team which gurudeva has been attending and contributing to. Thank you, Barbara!

The bright soul in the picture is Brahmachari Diksha Kandar, a long-time disciple of Gurudeva. He had come to the monastery to be with Gurudeva and the monks and to do karma yoga while studying Saiva Siddhanta Hinduism. He's been here for a full month and is leaving tommorow carrying His Satguru's teachings and vibrations to be shared by one and all. Here's something from Diksha:

"What an incredible blessings to be here with Gurudeva and all the monks, especially to see such refined and easy going young monks floating in to help Gurudeva. I can hardly wait for the next visit."

A view from the Mayor's office this morning, of a new intersection that is being built on the island to help the flow of traffic.

And this lovely little Hawaiian girl hangs on the Mayor's office wall. Cute da keiki!

An artists map of the island, with Waialeale, our extinct 5,250-foot tall volcano at the center.

A brilliant shot by our talented photographer monk and the Managing Editor's aide, Sadhaka Jivanandanatha of this Cattleya orchid. It has a beautiful flourescent color that radiates a very striking appearance.
