Today Gurudeva spoke in depth about confession. It means confiding one's
secrets to the Guru and to one's parents. It was a keynote address to all the
householder disciples, devotees and the monks. When one gets into secrecy
and is not honest or open and constantly affirms the mantra 'DON'T TELL GURUDEVA'
then this slowly creates distrust and a rift that would eventually disrupt the
relationship between the members of the household or between the monks and the
Guru.
The mistake is to feel that one would be berated or ashamed for
confiding. But actually healing takes place and there is a feeling of trust and of release.
Gurudeva made it clear that even if one does keep secrets but practises
spiritual disciplines sincerely, when purification occurs within them, the
truth eventually comes out. Gurudeva admonished that when problems arise, whether personal or what someone else is going through, let it be known to the
Guru or the parents. Share everything. Communicate. Do Tell, Don't Don't Tell.
That's Gurudeva on the phone with Easvan Param today, who is leaving California with his wife Devi in a few days for India, traveling for several weeks to all the holy temples.
