It's Sun 5 today, and Visitors' Day, as you will see below. Not a cloud in the island sky, crisp and clear and actinic.

gurudeva spent some time in our Mango Mandapam with pilgrims, bundled up to keep warm!

New! Satguru Speaks Again!

Today's Cybertalk: Gurudeva spoke today for a Tamil radio station in Canada, so we have a translator! Hear in English and Tamil about Lord Muruga and His Worship. And in case you didn't know this already, Gurudeva makes it clear that the Gods do not punish us.

Karttikeyanathaswami with four of our guests who came into the Publications facility. Janki Khatau is holding the magazine, and proudly, too, since it contains her published My Turn, an editorial on "US Teen Teaches US the ABCD's". Nice writing, Janki! That's her proud mother and father with her, and her brother.

Gurudeva gives a talk in the temple each Sun 5, and today the monks and members also bundled up for the upadesha, which you can hear too on today's audio file.

A special ceremony was held this morning, the Path Choosing for four young men, deciding to follow the path of the monk rather than the path of the family man. Our kulapatis look on.

Those who gave their declaration of path choosing, called Ishta Marga in Sanskrit were:

Sivanadiyar Chundadevan

Sivanadiyar Nanthakumar

Brahmachari Tejadeva

Sadhaka Nilakanthanatha, shown here on far left next to Deva Seyon.

The declarations are formally signed and witnessed.

That's Chundadevan signing and youngster Yoganatha watching.

During the ceremonies, Gurudeva asked the family members to say a few encouraging words to the monk candidates. On the right is our special elder from Malaysia, Jyotiswarar, who is a leader in his community, and in fact the President of the noble Siddhi Vinayaga Temple in Ulu Behrang. Also shown are Ganesh, Jyotishwarar's son (in the yellow shawl) and Silvarajoo Muniandy in the center, with Nathan Palani behind him.

Many wonderful souls visited today, about 50!

The sun helped warm the morning for them, though those from the mainland were in shorts and cotton shirts. Only the locals were freezing.

Jyotishwarar, Ganeshan, his wife and daughter.

Here is the daughter again, so poised and graceful at a young age. Welcome to Kauai, Sivajothiswari, age 5!

Tiruselvi helped show our guests around today. We just found out that her 17-year-old brother, Sivananda, will be going with Gurudeva to the Caribbean in March. Happy news!

Thondunathan hosted a fine couple from Santa Monica, California. He is a Hollywood scriptwriter and part-time consultant, helping people work with high-end design tools from Macromedia. They both are deeply spiritual aspirants and meditators and got a glimpse of our high-tech publications work...

Gurudeva signed his books for visitors in the Mango Mandapam.

Gurudeva blessing the wedding ring of this couple. They are from Florida, and she used to live in Hawaii for ten years, and visiting Kauai after a long time.

Many smiles as aspirants receive a book from the author himself.

And more smiles as families introduce themselves to the Satguru in his tropical paradise.

Mother and child.

Even the little ones get a book to study, in this case our children's course.

This bright family is from Dallas, Texas.

Ganeshan told Gurudeva this morning that he would like to follow the path of the Saiva monk. So his father, who was present, said "Take him, Gurudeva. He's yours now."

Ganeshan and Gurudeva.

Ganesha and Ragavati Sabanathan sent this photo on e-mail today, taken last June in California. Here is her explanation:

Aum Aum Aum Here is a picture of me handing Deva to you when we met.... apparently the people at kinkos thought you looked like Santa because they named the file Santa.jpg.. I think it is a beautiful picture of you. Take care...

Ragavati Sabanathan
