"Sit up straight and just feel centered in the spine. Really centered. Its easy. You will right here in the now. If you slump over your past gets bigger and bigger, your future gets bigger and bigger. If you sit up straight and feel centered in the spine you feel completed. People only have a lot of desires when they don't feel completed. How do you know what kind of desires you have? If you want something to satisfy yourself, something you like that's the desire you want to let go of. If you want something to help in your service to help accomplish something in service that's a different desire." Gurudeva has directly addressed in his inimitable way, the issue of Hindu clothing for men: "A lot of Hindu men think that they have to wear a dumpy white Kurtha and baggy pajyama pants. But that's a misconception. I asked Natyam Tyaganatha, who makes all the clothes for our monks to make a beautiful outfit for Ananta Palani." Here is Ananta, modeling Gurudeva's new "Hindu/Kauaiian/Indonesian" fashions (grin) Trying to look really cool. He does! (We should have built a run-way for him--smile) Yes, worthy of the Sharper Image Catalog! Note the "evening hat" traditional Indian design, blue fabric, very comfortable even on the most formal of occasions (do you believe this!) Be proud to wear your Hindu clothes even to high level executive meeting where "the other guys" are wearing those ugly suits and ties, all looking the same like pretty little penquins. "I can't believe I am really doing this?!" And those new beautiful flowers are blooming away. The color is . . . Simply amazing. |
