Humble greetings to holy feet
of beloved Gurudeva.
Next year in my school, we
are implementing a new system of discipline
called Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC).
When a student disrupts a class, the teacher
gives him/her an option to stay in class and
follow the rules or to go to a time out room to
reflect on his/her behaviour and negotiate a plan
with the teacher concerned to be allowed back
into class. Students who refuse to go to the
time-out room will be suspended until they come
with their parents to discuss their behaviour
with the principal. Students will not be given
corporal punishment under this new system. RTC
is endorsed and recommended by the Ministry of
Education. I hope to convince the school to stick
with the program until teachers realise the
effectiveness of RTC. Thank you and good-bye
beloved Gurudeva.
