"The first step is to try to feel the subtlety within you. The light within the lotus of the heart comes from someplace, doesn't it? Let us think about it in this way. Each time you take a breath you bring yourself a littl

Jai! Gurudeva arrived home today at 3:30 PM.
Everyone is over joyed and rushes forward to greet him.
Acharya Palaniswami and Sannyasin Arumugaswami, Sadhaka Haranandinatha and Sadhaka Thondunatha all came too at the same time.
Sadhaka Thondunatha says: "Wow, it's wonderful to be home!"
Our super drummers lead the way for Gurudeva up the path to the temple.
The traditional pada puja is held for Gurudeva at the entrance of the temple, feet washing and arati.
Gurudeva enters under a shower of flowers and a shout: "Satguru Sivaya Subramuniya Ki Jai!"
Sadhaka Haranandanatha also glad to be home.
With loud drums, Ganesha Arati is performed for our returning mission team.
Then Muruga arati and Siva Arati.
Gurudeva takes a seat for a moment to recap the trip.

Professor Sasi Velu Pillai says this about Los Angeles Events:
"Namaste. It was so wonderful to be in Gurudeva's presence last evening at the Bodhi Tree. The event was very successful and the room was full beyond capacity. My students were so happy to have their books personally signed by Gurudeva.
I was so interested to see "Merging with Siva." This endeavor cannot be called merely a "book;" rather it is a true work of art that will serve as an indispensable tool for westerners and Indians as well. After returning home last night, I was up late rea

And Denali National Park
June 28th-30th

Somewhere in Alaska. . .a port of call.

Gurudeva arrives in Anchorage and is happily greeted by devotees there.

The all important moment, the focus of the whole journey, was the official opening of the Ganesha temple.

As the society only has a room inside a complex of other offices. . .the homa was held outside in the parking lot. Native American elders joined the ceremonies. Sannyasin Skandanathaswami who is well trained in the fire ceremony performs the rites.

Our Native American guests, the "true Alaskans" surrounded the homa fire having received the traditional Hindu garland of flowers. They participated with their small sacred prayer drums.

Gurudeva received this give of a prayer drum, which we now have here on Kauai. The native elders were honored to have been invited to the event and spoke highly of the blending of the "two tribes" of Hindus and Alaskans. Gurudeva has always through the ye

The final arati of the homa rite.

Then the group moved inside for a Ganesha puja performed by Skandanathaswami and Guhanathaswami.

This Alaskan Native gave a discourse on the spiritual meaning of the exquisitely painted drum. The symbols describe the interconnected ness of the universe through the elements, the birds and the animals.

The next morning Gurudeva is off to Denali National Park. By train.

Gurudeva prepares for a special helicopter ride over Denali, which is the native name for Mount McKinley, the highest peak in North America.

From these high slopes, snow falls upon snow falls pressing into ice and sliding as glaciers to the ocean, carving the earth as they move slowly through the centuries.

This marks the end of this series of Alaska Innerseach and Gurudeva West Coast Tour Photos. See you next phase as we head into our two day retreat.
