"Do not get so involved in your daily work that you forget the inside. When you forget the inside, instinctive emotions start to well up such as frustration and worry. You worry about time. As you go through the day, always be listening for the inner voice. It does not talk to you as I am, but comes as a deep knowing like a breath of air³you just know the best solution to a question of the external mind, you just know what to do next. By doing this, your day will be much smoother. Your work will be more efficient and creative. Think about this today."

Gurudeva is seated this morning near the crystal lingam, for his Sun 5 talk to the members. The talk is next in his series on love, and it can be heard by clicking on the buttons on this page!

Love, Gurudeva told us, is of many kinds. And the fastest way to destroy love and disintergrate relationships is to engage in cynicism and sarcasm, to speak in such tones and terms with those we love.

Tandu Sivananda came today, and teamed up with the Siddhidatta Kulam to do some major clearing around the main building.

Yogi Yuganatha, center, guided the effort to keep the plants from totally consuming our structures.

Our photographer takes his own photo. Nice angle.

Natarajanathaswami and Rishi Thondunathan are talking about the next San Marga Newsletter designs.

Once in a while, not often, maybe every 4 years on average, the Wailua River swells to a flood. It is a definite event for those living here or visiting, for the river is not far from our temple.

Yesterday a short but puissant rain, like the heaviest downpours you may have been soaked by in India, fell from the tropical sky upon the island and within an hour the river bed was flushed.

The sounds of the water were defening, and every minute or so one could head the amazing crashing of giant boulders hitting one another as they tumbled in the churning waters. These rocks weigh many tons, and when they clash their sounds are deep and piercing.

Monks took a few minutes to explore the river during this unusual moment. Several of the younger monks had never seen this happen, so it was a great adventure.

Felled trees from upstream came rushing through the monastery, swirling in the maelstrom once they entered our natural pond. Today many of them are stranded, left high and dry, waiting for the next such flash flood to carry them downstream.

We were reminded of Gurudeva's wonderful teachings of the River of Life, which can be calm or torrential in the experiences it offers us, and of the importance of not clinging to the banks of the river of life, but flowing with the stream, letting go.

It's a great lesson, one we can learn again every now and then.

Our young monk photographer did some adventuring, and took along our digital camera.

Don't fall in!

ThatÍs a waterfall, well usually it is. In the high water it almost disappears.

Even the rock-clinging lichen seem amused by the passing fury.

Normally the water is emerald green. Today it is mocha brown.

Very funny!

And so we end another day in tropical paradise. Aum Namasivaya!
