Innersearch Caribbean 2000

Here are some spherical photos that you can "get inside of" from the dock by the MS Volendam

To view these you will need to get the LiveViewer Plug-in after downloading this, then click to see the Innersearch Carribean "Spherical Virtual Reality" group photo.

Looking up!

Today, a plethora of photos from the Caribbean. Here we see Gurudeva disembarking the MS Volendam in Trinidad as he is greeted by the beat of Indian drums. A warm reception awaited him.

Trinidad television and radio crews were first on the scene to get Gurudeva's message for the island Hindus.

More than 50 children from various schools sang and chanted hymns as Gurudeva, his monks and the 48 innersearchers made their way from the ship.

The Innersearchers were eclipsed by the reception, hardly expecting to be garlanded and treated with such honor. The sounds of the drums brought fellow passengers to the edges of all the decks on the Volendam to witness the reception below.

48 Innersearchers, comfortably seated in a brand new bus, off to the Chaguaramas Convention Centre for the big event.

Sivananda Katir, from Kauai, was our ace video cameraman.

Gurudeva autographed almost anything that could hold ink as he made his way back to the ship.

The sunny and colorful island of Martinique. Gurudeva leads the monks to "The Latrium", a hall 20 minutes away from the dock where local Hindus have gathered to hear him talk.

Daniel Lobb and Rachelle Perkins, two of our young Innersearchers.

One of the local vendors in Martinique.

St. Kitts: locals put on a colorful show at the dock.

The atrium of the MS Volendam.

Gurudeva gathers with the Innersearchers on Day 1 at the "Crow's Nest," situated at the very top of the ship with an incredible view, hence the name.

Gurudeva and Captain Edward Van Zaane, commander of the MS Volendam, pose for a photo in the bridge.

Gurudeva takes control of the Volendam as Captain Van Zaane keeps a watchful eye.

Gurudeva takes a break in the "Java Cafe" onboard. Sailing a ship is a lot of work!

Gurudeva signs a few more books. This time the newly released second edition of Loving Ganesha.

Dr. Kanapathypillai Shanmugasundaram and Mrs. Parvathi Evani celebrated their birthdays on the ship. The crew were great enough to bake two birthday cakes and join in the birthday song.

Innersearchers with cast of the nightly broadway show.

Gurudeva and the dancers.

Sannyasin Yoginathaswami and the Balinese Hindu crew that invited him to their midnight prayer session.

About 40 eager Hindus gathered at Mr. Mahbubani's home to greet Gurudeva.

Saiva Dharmasala, Mauritius

Mauritius is a beautiful country--and its most beautiful aspect must be the people who come visit us at our branch monastery and Spiritual Park! So it seems to us. Here are some. You judge. Today we had the visit of this fine young man, Navind Sagum from Goodlands, who joyously brought his completed "task-force" applications. This means that he is applying to come live at our Mauritius Hindu Monastery as a resident guest to work, learn, practice sadhana and meditation alongside the monks. He is asking to stay for six months. The application will be forwarded to Gurudeva in Hawaii. Aum Namasivaya.

Another wonderful Mauritian young man visited us recently, Ravi Navapol of Grande-Riviere-Sudest. Ravi is a student, highly interested in monastic life and deeply immersed in his sadhana.

Here is a part of the very fine and delightful Domah extended family who visited us today. They felt right at home in the little "bookstore" section of our Panchaganapati Mandapam, leisurely perusing Gurudeva's books and purchasing several.

Here are all the Domahs who visited us today.

And here we have Sunil and Monika Domah. Sunil moved to Luxembourg, Europe, some time ago and returns to Mauritius periodically to visit parents and relatives. Sunil and Monika are highly interested in Gurudeva's teachings and bought three of his books including Merging with Siva. AUM Namasivaya.

THANK YOU, GURUDEVA!

For those who have been touched spiritually by Gurudeva's work, his books, his guidance, his inspired life and example and even his website, the "Thank You, Gurudeva Fund" has been established within Hindu Heritage Endowment.

Proceeds from this fund are forever, not a one-time gift, so gifts to this fund have an eternal gratitude built into them. They live on, in perpetuity.

Each month Gurudeva receives the income from the fund, to be used at his own discretion to promote his work and mission around the globe. He loves this, for he knows that it comes from all the good souls who have met him and studied with him, or traveled or just talked with him, over the years. A contribution to this fund is tax-deductible.

This page is updated every day at 5:30pm Hawaii Standard Time.
