Day 4 of Sadhu Paksha "In the sanctum of our hearts, we shall find the Lord of Grace showering His bounty as a great Giver. All Hail Namasivaya!" "Fix the heart on God with love, the mind on His word with love, the hands upon His work with love, and then will unfold in the heart, the radiance of the knowledge of the Self, the SivaSakti, the dynamic and luminous presence. All Hail Namasivaya !"
--Natchintanai songs of Siva Yogaswami
Cybertalk: A cyberspace question from Tamil Nadu, India from someone wondering why we should go to the temple if everything is predestined. Gurudeva explains that we create our own destiny, according to the law called Karma. But, he says, we don't want to acknowledge fate. By going to the temple we can mitigate the karmas we create.

Transcription of One of Gurudeva's CyberTalks November_28_2000 Title: Heaven and Hell; Keeping Good Company Category: Hinduism and Tradition Duration: 1 min., 12 seconds Date Given: October 10, 2000 A cyberspace devotee in Trinidad asks, "Is there is a heaven and is there a hell? If there is, doesn't that make the law of reincarnation wrong?" Those who are living in heaven practice ahimsa - non-hurtfulness of anyone, physically, mentally or emotionally. Those who are living in hell practice himsa. They never miss an opportunity to hurt someone, mentally, physically or emotionally. The heaven and hell concept can be translated into higher nature or lower nature. A cyberspace devotee in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia wonders "Why people that they are associated with, don't practice what they preach according to religion?" There are many religions in the world and many denominations within the religions of the world. Choose your path and mix with those who are on the same path and you'll do well in life. Avoid those who are on different paths. They could become confusing to you. This is Chaturthi, our new addition to Kauai Aadheenam's herd, such a beautiful, healthy happy heifer (female calf). . . . We want to thank Linda Dubnick, one of Gurudeva's old students, for taking an initiative and asking if she could "sponsor a cow." This picture is when she was just a little baby calf. Linda is actually sponsoring, at $50.00 each a month, both Chaturthi and her mother Dhenu, seen here together. Unlike "factory" cows that are locked in a small cubicle for their whole lives, our cows have big open beautiful pastures and are very well taken care of and are given everything they need. We recently built a milking station out near the pastures so the cows would not have to walk in on the gravel road which is painful to their feet. Here is another picture of Chaturthi when she was young. This is Chaturthi today, just 3 months old. She really takes after her mother with the dark face. She was raised by the monks and is a real "people" cow. The cows provide milk, yogurt, butter and ghee for the monastery and bring a wonderful peace and blessing by their presence. Welcome to the family Chaturthi! And Chaturthi sends her love to all of you and to Linda. If you would like to also sponsor a cow please contact Acharya Ceyonswami at ceyon@hindu.org
Chaturthi's mother was a Jersey and her father half Angus, half Jersey, which makes Chaturthi 3/4 Jersey and 1/4 Angus. Cross breeding like this brings forth a strong, healthy and a bit "frisky " spirit. The entry way to Kadavul Hindu temple as seen through the banyon trees that cover the path on the way from the street. This temple is the monastic shrine and resembles in someways the structures of temples in Kerala India. THE GATEWAY. The two gates of breath I closed and lo, The words of the Guru became my guide, To cleave the bonds of birth asunder, And in joy I beheld the gateway divine. With bated breath, I held fast to God in thought. In the storied house I saw the void serene. The excellence of eternal glory was mine. 'Tis the secret of the conquest of Kaalan (Death). From the fire in the Mulaadhara at the base, The ghee from the crown did melt--alas! Subdued is the primacy of the invincible ego, And fully did I apprehend the ethics of Being. Golden is his mien, flowing are his locks, There is no one else like him in meekness. Oh wielder of woes! That grief may not assail, Come Thou as Love benign and succour me. --Natchintanai. 236-- Siva Yogaswami SON! THOU ART NON-PAREIL.
Son! Thou art fused in all life; Let your acts be spontaneous and free And link thyself to contemplation true. Realise that Anma (atma, soul) has no origination, Neither can it suffer dissolution. Know that devas and seers shed lustre Indwelling in thy consciousness. Son! Intrinsic evil there is not, Truth alone is perfection absolute. These are the words of Gurunathan, worship with devotion and rejoice. --Natchintanai. 139. Siva Yogaswami Gurudeva's other monastery in the island country of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean near South Africa Bright and early Sunday morning we are happy to have the youth group from the Sri Satya Sai Dev Centre of St. Croix (Port Louis) come on their annual outing, this year focusing on the Spiritual Park at La Pointe des Lascars. The youth group of Port Louis Sai Centre has just arrived. As the two groups come together there is instant recognition, surprise and delight.
Now what are the chances that the youth of the two Sai Baba groups in Port Louis would decided to have their outing on the same day, at the time and . . . to the same place, without knowing the other group was coming?? Perhaps, without our knowing it, Satya Sai Baba had a hand in the coordination.
It is always a joy to have Sai Baba groups visit the Park. They are very social and like to sing bhajans and religious songs. The Port Louis youth were particularly disciplined. The boys sat to the right and the girls sat to the left side, just as you see in traditional temples in India. Ganesha loves to get lots of attention, and His love can be felt as it floods out to the crowd. The officers of the Port Louis Sai Baba Society: (l to r) Vassen Arnachellum, trip organiser; Suresh Heera, Secretary; Mukesh Balgoban, President; and Sri Bhuckory, who has been the Spiritual guide for the group for many years, an "Upaguru", as he jokingly explains.
