Several factors are involved in the coming work on the temple land:

  • the land around the temple will be carved down, to make sure all water drains down away from the temple, also giving an added element of height to the temple for approaching pilgrims.
  • the soil to be put on the temple foundation can thus be taken from the grading around the temple.
  • a comprehensive overview of the landscape needs to be in place as the work proceeds.

This topographical map will now be sent to Mr. Ittsei Nagagawa, a renowed landscape architect in California who works on really large projects.

Sunset over Waialeale Mountain where the sun disappears yet continues to paint colors across the sky. This is one of two sacred hours of the day for meditation, called "Sandhya" , the time of dawn and the time of dusk. . .the "in between" times. From time immemorial, those persons initiated in the sacred Gayatri Mantra took the obligatory vow to do their japa--repetition of holy verses and name of God-- at these two times, everyday, without fail.

Other auspicious times for Raja Yoga include midnite, when all is silent and the famous "Brahma Muhurtha" time, the two hour period before dawn. Hindu faith has always been interwoven with the cycles of nature, using the natural forces to help impel us forward in our spiritual practice, ever onward and upward in the evolution of the soul towards its final merger with God Siva.

THANK YOU, GURUDEVA!

For those who have been touched spiritually by Gurudeva's work, his books, his guidance, his inspired life and example and even his website, the "Thank You, Gurudeva Fund" has been established within Hindu Heritage Endowment.

Proceeds from this fund are forever, not a one-time gift, so gifts to this fund have an eternal gratitude built into them. They live on, in perpetuity.

Each month Gurudeva receives the income from the fund, to be used at his own discretion to promote his work and mission around the globe. He loves this, for he knows that it comes from all the good souls who have met him and studied with him, or traveled or just talked with him, over the years. A contribution to this fund is tax-deductible.
