Gurudeva reviewed a set of 12 meditations in the Shum language which will be carved into the granite pillars of Iraivan Temple (so you want to be real sure they are spelled right!)
At the Sun 5 morning talk for members this morning Gurudeva spoke to the cyberspace congregation about Parasiva
and the evolution of the soul that leads to the realization of Parasiva.
It
begins with the expansion of the intellect after the first diksha,
vidyarambha, is given. When the intellect is under the dominion of the
soul, religion comes into one's life.
Then the realization takes place that we are not the mind, body or
emotions. However, for this to take place we need to be in the right
environment. As we get deeper into our spiritual practises, we
experience Satchitananda, feel the energies within us expanding and
including all external forms.
Beyond Satchitananda is the realization of
Parasiva which begins with more advanced initiations, called diksha, and this includes living in an environment
which is conducive to spiritual growth. That is called a monastery.
Renunciation is the hallmark at this point in life. The renunciate lets
go of the world and is freed from the thought of food, money or clothing.
Freed from worries, he lives a simple life. This allows him to soar within
and realize his very own being, the essence of all, the Sivaness within each soul.
