It was another wonderful day full of blessings and grace as the fourth day of Guru Jayanthi unfolded. In the morning we had numerous vows taken, pledges taken around the sacred fire. the we all went out to the Iraivan Foundation site.

New! Satguru Speaks Again!

Today's Cybertalk: This is the second part of gurudeva's talk on Home as a Business? Your home can prosper and expand, or it can go out of business, even become bankrupt. The determining factor, Gurudeva stresses, is the daily expression of appreciation, love and the giving of praise.

Here, Hiteshvara takes lifetime vows of brahmachariya, making a firm choice between grhiHasta life and the dedicated life of celibacy.

Several today took the "three Vratas" 1. dedication to the Nandinatha Sampradaya's Kailasa Guru Paramapara, 2. lifetime vegetarianism 3. Dasamamsha-- to tithe 10% of their income for God's work.

And several were also accepted as "Vrata Sishya" members of Saiva Siddhanta Church, after having signed their committment to live by the basic "54 sutras" which outline the lifestyle and committments of Gurudeva's devotees.

New members that have joined our international band of Saiva devotees today are:
Brahmachari Vickneswaren Santhramogam (plans to become a monk)
Brahmachari Nanthakumaran Muniandy (Upakurvana program six months in all the kulams at the monastery)
Brahmachari Panshula Ganeshan(coming to join the monastic order)
Jothi and Deepa Param (from India soon to be in Mauritius Shanta Devi (from Singapore)
Jai!!

Hiteshvara receives his Brahmachariya cord from Gurudeva.

Kanesh from Ulu Behran in Malaysia signs his Church membership forms.

Another auspicious ceremony: the "Namakarana Samskara" or name giving ceremony for Sandhya Devi Param. Her father Jothi Param holds the little girls' hand and write her name three times in a tray of rice. Jothi is married to Deepa who he met in India at Kalakshetra college. They are eventually headed to Mauritius to settle there.

Sandhya Devi is a very sweet child. She rarely cries. Sometimes she gurgles and murmers in a gentle but frustrated tone with all kinds of intonations as if she was trying to communicate something but just can't find the words for it. Then she finally gives up and goes back to sleep. She didn't protext at all as she wrote her name in the rice.

After each time the baby's name is written, Gurudeva passed the name over the fire.

It was an incredibly clear morning and this classic vision of Mount Wailealale majestically blessed the pilgrims from our lovely location at the foothills of this ancient sacred mountain.

Later in the morning the Ganapati Kulam gave a presentation to all the pilgrims. Then we took photos. During the presentation Acharya Palaniswami said:

"We just now chanted the opening praise to Ganesha from the Tirumantiram. This represents what out Ganapati Kulam and the whole monastic order is doing. Taking the ancient ways, putting it on books, CD's, digital media of varied kinds--all new forms. This is the wonderful team seated before you that does that work."

As some of you may know, Guruderva has doing publishing from day one. From the 1st day of Saiva Siddhanta Church he founded Aquarian Publications. This later became Comstock House when we moved to Nevada and now has evolved into Himalayan Academy Publications. We are doing the same work today. The only difference is that we have better tools. In the old days we did everything by hand. Now we have digital tools.

This has dramatically changed our creation and production strategies and empowered a kind of collaboration with people all over the world that would never have been possible before. For example Manivel is a wonderful artist in Chennai. His son used to work for Walt Disney. Now both Father and son work for Gurudeva. We purchase him a scanner. Natarajnathaswami can prepare a design with instrucdtions and send that to India by email. Manivel gets it and goes to work and then scans his finished painting and send back to us a high resolution piece of finished art. This all happens now within 72 hours. That used to take months. Now things happen in minutes.

we are also now celebrating 15 months of producing these daily pages of what is happening at Kauai Aadheenam. It was quite an achievement and a big committment on a part of the monks in our team. The computers and internet allow us to share all these gifts with the world.

Hinduism Today is touching 1000's the world over through the internet and daily we get testimonies by email from students who use our material for their exams, from people who are uplifted by the wonderful teachings in Gurudeva's audio talks."

After the over view presentation all the pilgrims were taken through a tour of the publications facility showing all departments from editorial, art, audio and magazine production and distribution.

This is a fancy new "toy" : spherical photos. This time of the whole pilgrim group, with monks and Gurudeva together.LiveViewer Plug-in after downloading this, then click to see a 360 degree group picture of all the Jayanthi pilgrims and monks with Gurudeva."Spherical Virtual Reality Shot."

We parade out to the temple site. Acharya Ceyonswami with Gurudeva.

The sun began to rise on a truly "mangalam" day, auspicious and full of the "amritam" nectar of satsang with Gurudeva and the devotees.

Reaching the temple site, first the arati to Lord Ganesha in the Banyan tree at the north end of the temple.

Our rhythm team is in great form, led by Natarajnathaswami who can work up a drum roll that will send your energy right up the spine!

Dawn breaks upon the consecrated group.

Jothisvar from Ulu Behrant, owner and priest of the Ulu Behran Ganesha temple and now a member os Saiva Siddhanta Church.

Silvarajoo Muniandy from Malaysia walks beside Sivakumar from Singapore.

Aunty Palani of the Kauai Mission hold Sandhya Devi, giving Deepa a break. It's her first child and it is wonderful for her to have some many ladies around to help take care of the baby1

Hitesvara.

The sun breaks over the group as they stand while the puja is done at the spot where the Lingam will be in the Garbha Griham of Iraivan Temple

The burlap was completely removed from the surface of the foundation last week. Not a single crack was found. The once brownish beige colored ""high density fly-ash concrete" had turn on the surface to near snow white, bleached by the rain and sun it appeared like a solid block of vibhuti!

The morning ceremonies over, we return to the Aadheenam filled with bliss.

Saravan and Devashiva Veylan have come from Edmonton Canada for a 6-month task force program.

Jothi Param on the left his wife Deepa and now grandma Bhavani Param who holds her grand-daughter, Sandhyadevi.

Yesterday the whole group went with Gurudeva to Fern Grotto. for an outing.

Paramacharya Bodhinatha on the left with our new pre-monastic Panshula on the right.

Everyone had fun going up Hawaii's only navigable river.
