The Rig Veda says:
"To him adorable, sage, strong and mighty we have sung forth our song of praise and homage.
Gavisthira hath raised with prayer to Agni this laud far-reaching, like gold light to heaven."
Cybertalk: We include the reading of the question again, to give a little audio look into the question and answer sessions with Gurudeva as they happen. Today Gurudeva responds to an e-devotee who is so concerned with the atrocities and troubles of the world that he sees on TV and reads about daily that he wonders if he should be sitting and meditating or getting up and trying to change things. Gurudeva answers by explaining the intrinsic nature of the world and the evolution that souls must experience in the world.
Do you have questions for Gurudeva? A detailed index of past inspired talks is available here. Transcription of One of Gurudeva's CyberTalks June 19, 2000 Title: Men and Women in the Workplace Category: Good Conduct A question from Surya in Mauritius: "How does a Hindu man relate to women in the workplace and maintain his religious life?" Very carefully. Very carefully. It's important that you remember that you have a path to follow and you are in the workplace to be friendly to everyone equally, not having favorites nor any likes or dislikes. Behavior should be professional. Professional behavior is detached behavior, yet friendly behavior. Ever busy Ekadanta Kulam office (Gurudeva's secretarial department) is working on mailings and literature packets. Our new puppy ZIP is helping with the mailing. Jane Nelsen held a seminar on Positive Discipline last night at the Kauai Beach Hotel. About 80 attentive souls were on hand to learn about how to raise their children without violence. One of our young ladies Tiru Selvi (far left) said: "It was great fun, and the role playing worked out very well. People really got the point. Selvi's father Deva Katir sends this report: " Dr Jane's talk tonight at the hotel was very well attended. The general estimate was around 80 souls. Dr Jane sold quite a few books and close to 15 people gave their names and phone numbers, showing interest in participating in a positive discipline workshop on Kauai. People from Hale Opio, PATCH (people attentive to children) and Good Beginnings were present along with parents representing all the cultural/ethnic groups on Kauai. All the church members were there also. Sharon Agnew from the Mayor's office was there giving her support as well.
Deva continues: "We watched the taping of the Mayor's Report and it was great! Mayor Kusaka asked Dr Jane what brought her to Kauai and without hesitation she responded, Gurudeva. This gave the Mayor an opportunity to talk warmly about Gurudeva and the monks and all they do for Kauai. She went down quite a list actually and was full of praise for Gurudeva, as was Dr Jane for his "stop the war in the home" campaign. The show taped today won't run beginning this Friday, but the following Friday. We'll see that it gets taped for you."
Three of Gurudeva's sishya Dhanya Nadesan, Vasuki Sendan and Kavita Mardemootoo. Dhanya and Sadhunathan are hosting "Dr. Jane" on Kauai. Deva says: "On Wednesday Dhanya has arranged a lunch with all the ladies and Dr. Jane in Lihue. Everyone is looking forward to this.
"Everything is going very smoothly and Dr Jane is having a great time. Sadhu and Dhanya are doing a wonderful job hosting her."

The swami in charge of the society there is Swami Guhabhaktanathaswami, a dear friend for many years. Swami is a beautiful soul and has been kind enough to help with the initial training of young Malaysian men who say they are interested in monastic life.
