We have this wonderful testimony from a dear soul in Brazil, who visits these pages often:

Davi Murbach Furlan of Campinas, SP, Brazil says:

"Namaste!

I am overwhelmed with joy as I write, for Gurudeva has just answered the question I posted here a few weeks ago. I humbly thank Lord Siva for this! Aum namah Sivaya!"

Title: Finding a Guru
Category: The Guru
Duration: 2 min., 24 seconds

Cybertalk: A Texas e-devotee would like to find just the right guru to guide him on the path to God realization. He asks Gurudeva how he will know if he has found the right one. Gurudeva offers some very practical advice and explains the need for research and qualification for spiritual pursuits.

Title: House, Home, Hotel
Category: Home & Family

A cyberspace cadet named Jiva, in Santa Rosa, wonders about poor people, living on the street. He sees so many of them and so many rich homes and wonders if there is a solution. Is there ever going to be a solution?

Let's ask ourselves what is a home? It's closeness. It's family togetherness. It's having a conversation with the entire family every day. I, too, have seen entire families on the street. They live together, they sleep together, they talk together, they eat together but they are a family. And a family's at home wherever they are. You don't need a roof to make a family. You don't need a roof to make a home. The true homeless people are the rich people that build multi-million dollar homes and don't live in them. The true homeless people are those who have turned their home into a hotel. Husband works, wife works, children are delinquent, there's no companionship. They don't talk together every day. They don't eat together every day. They rarely see each other. The true homeless people are those with babysitters, caretakers, gardeners, maids. Babysitters often abuse their children. They are unaware. Too busy making money outside the home that they do not live in. So this is another way of looking at the homeless. Who's to be pitied?

Aum Namah Sivaya,
Aum Namah Sivaya,
Aum Namah Sivaya Aum

Davi Murbach Furlan continues:

"IÇll simply add the information that I actually live in southeastern Brazil; the .br in my email stands for Brazil. I just thought that you people in Kauai, Gurudeva included, would be happy to know that lots of love are sent to you from faraway Brazil, too.

Aum namah Sivaya."

Today Gurudeva gives his Sun Five talk to all the devotees on the island.

Kavita Mardemootoo asks a heartful question that sparks a little enthusiasm on her part.

The thought provoking query about why woman in Hindu art are always depicted so scantily clad, elicits a profound response from Gurudeva. (to be heard in the near future)

The upadesha (spiritual discourse) follows the 6:00 am Muruga puja. Lord Muruga is colorfully dressed today!

A few of the members along with Jane Nelsen meet for a light breaksfast and coffee with a few of the monks. Sannyasin Saravananathaswami has the on-going project to help develop parenting resources and end physical punishment and abuse of children throughout the whole universe.

THANK YOU, GURUDEVA

For those who have been touched spiritually by Gurudeva's work, his books, his guidance, his inspired life and example and even his website, the "Thank You, Gurudeva Fund" has been established within Hindu Heritage Endowment.

Proceeds from this fund last forever; they're not a one-time gift. So gifts to this fund have eternal gratitude built into them. They live on in perpetuity.

Each month Gurudeva receives the income from the fund to be used at his own discretion to promote his work and mission around the globe. He loves this, for he knows that it comes from all the good souls who have met him and studied with him, traveled with him or just talked with him over the years. A contribution to this fund is tax-deductible.

This page is updated every day at 5:30pm Hawaii Standard Time.
