Gurudeva sits in the morning with Brahmachari Nanthakumaran from Sungai Buloh, Malaysia, and Acharya Ceyonswami and Sannyasin Yoginathaswami and talks to them about Shum, the language of meditation that you see hanging on the walls behind Gurudeva.

Satguru Speaks

Cybertalk: Part 3 of Gurudeva's Sivaratri upadesha explores spiritual solutions to the problems of humanity. Gurudeva stresses that Lord Siva's philosophy teaches that problems are meant to be solved, they are not meant to be lived with. Gurudeva also explains the powers that Lord Siva gives to His devotees, to take negative energy and make it positive and to influence by example.

On their way the pilgrims have stopped at countless shrines and temples. Now they've parked the kanwar to go to a little shrine in a cane field, we take this opportunity to get a full view of it.

A labor of love. Made with expensive wood and great care, like a piece of fine furniture. And yet, as soon as the Ganga water is removed from it and placed in the temple, the kanwar will have lost its usefulness and purpose, and those who made it will immediately dismantle it. When one works for God, the value system is different.

The kanwar and pilgrims take an unexpected right turn onto our little road. Sadhaka Haranandinatha (left) wonders, "Where?... what?... Are they going to our place?..."

"Yes, they are! I can't believe it!" Without a word being said, the pilgrims took our obvious interest and delight in their project as an invitation. Here they come! What a wonderful turn of events! Good thing we heard about it and came!

The pilgrims enter our property. Notice they have come through a first gate, but they won't come through the gate in the foreground, for that is the one that leads to the monastery. They will take a path between the two gates here, which leads to the public area, the Spiritual Park and Pancha Ganapati Mandapam, the real one. This is theirs and their kanwar's last stop; how utterly perfect!

At the mandapam, the pilgrims enjoy a brief arati to Lord Pancha Ganapati then pose for a group shot. It is a joyous moment for everyone. A congregation we did not know we had, suddenly manifested, having come home after a long pilgrimage. We welcome them heartily and invite them to come often and think of the Spiritual Park and its mandapam as their own. AUM Namasivaya.
