Hindu Year 5102: Vikrama, the "Year of Fulfillment"

Today was Sun Six which means this phase has an extra day. When this happens, Gurudeva gives a special talk in the temple which is directed to the monastic order. These are recorded and preserved to form the "Matavasi Shastras" of the Order for the future.

Away mission count down continues:

Five days to lift off to Malaysia for the "Aboorvas Anmeega Yathirai." Also see a detailed update for the trip to Canada the following month.

Progress! The earth for the surcharge is off the foundation and Muruga Hill is nearly finished.

Cybertalk: Is it possible to be successful in the world while maintaining your philosophical perspective? Gurudeva says, Yes, of course, that once you understand and accept yourself as a soul, rather than a body, mind or set of emotions, then you are able to work harmoniously with everyone without effort, and success comes automatically.

Today Nanthakumar performed the Atmartha puja flawlessly for the monastery and "graduated." Both he and Kanesh will be leaving in a few days to go home. They will join Gurudeva and help him with the programs being held in Malaysia.

Nanthakumar becomes today's morning priest. Here he gives Gurudeva the sacred ashes after the puja is over.

Tour day, last day of the phase brought 20 souls who were curious about our temple and monastery.

Several purchased books which Gurudeva signed.

Gurudeva advises a young Indian man who just married an American girl, Heidi. They are here for their honeymoon. He is a pharmicist from Chicago.

Gurudeva advises the young husband, Rajul:

"You, the husband, are responsible. You have to give her everything she wants and everything she needs. You are responsible to make her happy. Her happiness will flow back to you as a shakti, a power that will make you successful."

Here is a picture of Gurdueva at a Border's Book signing where the translator of Merging with Shiva, Christina Berisso had Gurudeva sign her book. Christina shares her feelings about her work on Uniéndose a Siva
"I sincerely feel that you are helping me more than anything else. By translating I have to go over the writings several times and every time I do it, some new perspective pops up that I did not see before. It is amazing how new things keep on appearing before my eyes every time I read the same paragraph !!! Doing the translations is like having a super-intense course on MWS, and I really love it!! On top of that, I have the luxury of asking you questions if there is something I do not get, and having very first hand explanations. You have no idea how wonderful is all this for me.

When I started the translations I felt the need of sharing MWS with more people that do not speak English. I thought of friends and family in Argentina, Spain and Mexico. I thought that was not good to have it just for me and not give them the possibility of reading it. But I deserve no recognition. That should go to Gurudeva and the monastics that are making all of these teachings available to us. I am getting much more than I am giving (by several orders of magnitude) and all I pray for is that you dont get tired of answering my questions!

Christina Berisso

Stay tuned to Gurudeva's answers to Christina's excellent questions on karma, coming to this page soon!

That is all for this phase dear friends in Cyberspace. We will be having our two day moon retreat over the next two days. . .see you all on Saturday. Over and out from Kauai Aadheenam!

THANK YOU, GURUDEVA

For those who have been touched spiritually by Gurudeva's work, his books, his guidance, his inspired life and example and even his website, the "Thank You, Gurudeva Fund" has been established within Hindu Heritage Endowment.

Proceeds from this fund last forever; they're not a one-time gift. So gifts to this fund have eternal gratitude built into them. They live on in perpetuity.

Each month Gurudeva receives the income from the fund to be used at his own discretion to promote his work and mission around the globe. He loves this, for he knows that it comes from all the good souls who have met him and studied with him, traveled with him or just talked with him over the years. A contribution to this fund is tax-deductible.

This page is updated every day at 5:30pm Hawaii Standard Time.
