 Due to some unforeseen circumstances yesterday, today's TAKA (February 14th) was not posted. There will be a new one tonight covering yesterdays' happenings) We began a new phase today with a dynamic Sun One Homa fire.... We could feel Gurudeva's presence so deeply during the yagna, and for some reason the wind was in all our sails today as evrything we did went forward with unusual momentum. Today we stumbled on an amazing quote from our beloved Gurudeva, one that gives an amazing vision of the forceful momentum of our heritage, taken from his Master Course lessons. How's this for a definition? "The Natha Sampradaya has revealed the search for the innermost divine Self, balanced by temple worship, fueled by kundalini yoga, charted by monistic theism, illumined by a potent guru-shishya system, guided by soul-stirring scriptures and awakened by sadhana and tapas. Thus has it given mankind the mechanics for moving forward in evolution."

Sadhaka Thondunatha with Paramacharya Palaniswami...together they review a project that is in the works in California. Hotranatha Ajaya, taking Gurudeva's direction for the members to raise funds for Iraivan, will be making a special, very beautiful calendar for 2003. Palaniswami and his team spent a few days gathering the best best imagery and sent it off on a CD. Hotranatha plans to have the calendar professionally done and all the proceeds will go to Iraivan. That's the spirit!
Deva Rajan is here from California for a few days. One of Gurudeva's oldest sishya, he has been very helpful throughout the years in various aspects of the Iraivan Temple construction. He is here specifically to see to the reinforcement of the retaining wall that surrounds the temple sanctum as it rises higher and higher. Deva donated approximately 26,000 lbs of lumber for the remaining walls. Here he is seen having darshan with Satuguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami in the Guru Peedam.
Our homa this morning was scintillating both inwardly and outwardly.

On the afternoon of the last day of last phase, after we had already processed the photos for that day, a large tour group of Japanese pilgrims came in the afternoon. Paramacharya Ceyonswami here is introducing the group to Deva Rajan.
The group leader, Mr. Noguchi, happened to first visit the monastery the day after Gurudeva's Mahasamadhi and was overwhelmed with the spiritual vibration he encountered. So much so, that he went back to Japan and organized a group of 40 mystically inclined souls to journey back with him to the monastery.
As usual everyone is awestruck to see a giant all stone temple being builT by hand on Kauai.
Everyone takes a small piece of the temple home... chips of stones that have been leveled by the silpis.
Course number eight is under way.

We are often graced with magical rainbows that arch over the temple amidst a brief rain shower that is happening just a mile away while we are still dry in the bright sunshine.

A belated but important report: In December our small, strong Singapore mission held a well attended memorial service for Gurudeva. Our Singapore sevaks have always been a dynamic team, distributing Hinduism Today and holding fund raising events for the Iraivan temple. They have the good fortune of being at the "cross roads of Asia," and invariably get to see the monks as they travel through on their way to India, Malaysia or Mauritius. Prostration to the holy feet of Lord Ganesha and Our beloved Satguru Bodhinatha,
Vannakam and greetings to everyone at the aadheenam,
On 10th December 01, we held a memorial service for Our beloved Gurudeva. It was held at the Sri Sivan Temple, Jasmin Hall, Geylang East at 7.30pm . This great event was witnessed by about 80 devotees. In a short span of ONE week, the preparation for the programme was steadily carried out by the team with great love, devotion and speed.
At the entrance of the Jasmin Hall, devotees and guest were greeted by Mrs Umamaheswaran, Mrs Lavanya Saravan and Ms Sudha. The entrance of the Jasmin Hall was beautifully decorated by Ms Sudha, with mango leaves and the thoranams - coconut leaves. A small table at the entrance carried Our Beloved Gurudeva's photo and the programme list for that Great Evening.
Devotees and guests were seated by 7.30 pm.
The memorial service started with the Ganesha arathi performed by Mr. Umamaheswaran.
An invocation dance was performed by an eight year old girl - Vernisa Ashwini, my friend's daughter. Mr Sekar, her father was very happy when we spoke about our programme and our request for his daughter to dance. Ashwini was very happy and she put up a wonderful dance. The beauty of her dance touched everyone's heart when she scooped some rose petals and tossed them over Gurudeva's Tiruvadi.
Presentation of souvenir to Vernisa Ashwini by SSC Singapore Mission Kulapati Dohadeva Samugam. Ashwini was presented with a shawl Ü Ponnadai and given crystal with the wording "Gurudeva Memorial Service" 10/12/01. Her parents were very happy for her to participate in such a great event.
After the dance, was singing of Natchintanai by Mrs Padmini Samuthiram's children Jayasutha and Akileiswaran. Both of them sang very well vibrating the hall with their sweet voices. Kulamata Nagavathy Samugam gave souvenirs to our Natchintanai Nightingales.
The spark of our programme fused up as Mr Sivakumar Saravan came up with his speech and presentation on Remembering Gurudeva. This part highlighted the achievements of Gurudeva followed by updates on Gurudeva's Mahasamadhi. His speech was accompanied by slide presentation which allowed everyone present to witness the entire Magical Passage of Gurudeva beginning from the Guru Parampara puja which was conducted by the young priest Janahan from California, till the Ekadasa Kumbha Puja. During this presentation, many felt the high vibration of Gurudeva's presence.
As the entire programme was in English, we ensured that for those who didn't understand English a Tamil version was made available. To fulfill that we had Ms Sornavanita Sutherman, who gave the entire update in Tamil.
Testimonies from our members followed on adding more lights and info to the programme, Mdm Shanthadevi, Ms Sudha and Mr Sivakumaran gave their testimonies.

Everyone felt blessed to have come to this memorial and to be brought so deeply in touch with our wonderful Gurudeva, who lives on in our hearts, our minds and with us on the inner planes.
