Cybertalk: If the manifestation of karma is inevitable, who do parents need to discipline their children at all? If something is in the child's karma and it's going to manifest inevitably, why not let what is going to happen just happen? This is a 16-17-year-old asking, and it's really a great philosophical question. Karma can manifest in a number of ways. Example of physical injury. The Karma is to break a leg because of actions in the past. How karma manifests depends on how you live. Ordinary life, karma will manifest in its grossest form, breaking the leg. If you live a refined life, karma will come in a more refined way, such as a lot of bruises. If you live a religious life, karma will come in a very refined way. Example of TV news, famous person breaking leg, and we can take on the emotion of it and identify with it intensely if that was in our karma. This way we are going through the karma in a very subtle way. Karma manifests according to how you live.

About the Options
Download
RealPlayer 5.0 RealAudio: RealAudio uses "streaming download" technology. The quality is good, not superior, but you can listen to Gurudeva right away while it downloads. Gurudeva's talks are always provided in RealAudio format, sometimes in more than one language. To listen to the RealAudio file, you will need RealPlayer. Click on the icon to the right to download RealPlayer. If you' re not sure which version of the RealPlayer will work on your computer, click here.
MPEG Layer 3 Audio: Sometimes, Gurudeva's talks are also provided in MP3 format. The MPEG Layer 3 Audio (MP3) format is a standard for high quality audio on the Internet. MP3's CD-quality sound is much clearer than RealAudio and WAV, but the file is larger and may or may not work well for you in "streaming mode", meaning that you may have intermittent pauses, or may need to wait for the whole file to download before listening. If listening to Gurudeva as if he is sitting right next to you means anything, it's worth it. This option works best for those with fast Internet connections or those with lots of patience. To download an MP3 player, click on your operating system: Mac or Windows. (MP3 players for other platforms are available at the same website.)
WAV: Gurudeva's daily message is also usually provided in the Windows WAV format. This option is not streaming, is significantly lower quality and about two-thirds the size of MP3. Most Mac and Windows computers have the ability to play WAV sound files without the need to download additional software.

Problems?
If you are experiencing problems with skipping or intermittent sound with the RealAudio streaming download, shift click here. The entire RealAudio file will be downloaded to your computer, after which you can open and listen to it with the RealPlayer.

If you are having problems downloading or listening to Gurudeva's daily message, we would be happy to help you get set up correctly. Please e-mail webmaster@hindu.org. Be sure to let us know which type of computer you have and what the problem seems to be. Please include the full text of any error messages you see.
