Cybertalk: Bodhinatha continues his talk on the yamas and niyamas, relating the yama noninjury to the niyama of contentment. If we are content within ourselves, the tendency to disturb or hurt others is not there. He tells a fun story illustrating the philosophical basis for ahimsa, which is that the Divine is flowing through all beings and that which we do to others we are only doing to ourselves.

At the Pillyar Kulam, the big orange tabby known as Eereh (the shum word for "cat") makes himself at home on top of Sadhaka Haranandinatha's work. Sadhaka is our book sales and marketing manager, cheerful host for guests and generally gets all kinds of things done for everyone. Now, if we can just get this kitty to move we can see how our advertisements we ran to promote the Master Course look in this magazine. But Eereh is a tiger at heart and you have to careful... he might get playful with you and take a nip out of your hand!
Around the world the sishya of Saiva Siddhanta Church "tithe time" by putting in at least four hours of seva each week. We have been a bit "heavy" on reporting the work of those involved in our information technologies, but there are all kinds of other important interesting karma yoga going on. Here is Mrs. Savitri Palani in California who makes the work clothing for the monks. She sews the green kurta shirts and a variety of sizes of pants and green sarongs that are then sent to the monastery and hang in Sadhaka Tyaganatha's clothing "factory." When someone needs one, then the correct size will be taken off the racks and cuffs of the pants and sleeves will be fitted according to the monk's actual needs.
And, to follow up on "greens" we take you now for a tour of our garden, where the Siddhidata Kulam has been putting in a lot of hard work. One easy to grow flower is called the "cosmos" which is quite prolific and looks like a daisy.
Here is a whole patch of them.
As we approach the center of the garden we find a shrine to Lord Ganesha.
Years ago the devas told Gurudeva that they didn't like the sound and noise of the tractors and slowly over the years the Siddhidata Kulam has turned the garden into a "machine free" zone. Trucks and vehicles can approach from the sides, but Yoginathaswami, the Talaivar of the Kulam is quite insistent that all the work inside the garden be done by hand. These taro plants are very happy with their now mound mulch box beds.
The tips of these greens make delicious curry.
Jai Ganesha! Everyone is encouraged to grow as much of their own food as they can. Even in an apartment you can make your own bean sprouts and grow herbs in a window box... stay in touch with Mother Earth!
"Bunching onions" grow very well here... actually for this plant you eat the leafy part that grows above ground by taking cuttings of mature leaves off the base.
This is a special variety of eggplant that is fruiting very well this year.
This is an oriental green called "Joy Choi" which is delicious, even raw.

We continue with our "big stone adjustment" documentary today.... Last phase we showed how Karuppaiah had drilled three holes this stone. Now Sundaram Achari has placed three chisels into those holes and, using a very heavy sledge hammer, he hits one after the other in succession.
Look carefully and just behind the wedges you will see the granite is cracking.
The piece is gently removed.
It was a very clean slice.
Now they overturn the stone to slice off the opposite side.
One of the innersearchers who went to Alaska with Gurudeva, Sheila Evani from Vancouver, Canada had requested suggestions for doing seva for Hinduism during her summer break. We suggested she go to Malaysia to serve at the Manjung Orphanage. and she took up that idea. On her way through Singapore she found God was running the following ad campaign the local newspapers:
