 A devotee on a far continent has been having dreams of Gurudeva and he writes: "The great bliss I feel in these dreams is so powerful and the message Gurudeva always gives me is- THERE IS NO DEATH. There is just a shuffling of atoms. His other clear message was that any fool can follow a Guru when the Guru is physically around to lean on and get recognition from. It takes faith, devotion and insight to remain strongly loyal to your Guru after he has left you physically."

Today's Sun One homa fell on Chitra Nakshatra and we celebrated with the monthly Guru puja in honor of Gurudeva.
Sadhaka Tyaganatha and Sadhaka Jivanandanatha have carefully prepared all the articles for the worship.
Jai Gurudeva! We could all feel his presence as if the great message of love and peace that was his ideal and his wish for all his devotees, their families and communities flooded the room.
Sadhaka Jivanandanatha is the helper today, pouring water after each of the sacred substances is offered.
Panchamritam, the "Five Nectarian Food" offering, and ekadeepa arati.
Yogaswami praised his Guru:
"All's Truth,' was his refrain,
That he beamed at me with radiant face.
And unfailing was the spell of him,
Whose lotus Feet are my shield. "
Sandalwood paste is offered next.
'Bethink the body as a temple of God,
And do thou so contemplate--'
Thus he addressed me in accents of love.
His flawless Feet, my protection aught.
'Birth and death revolve round
The wheel of attachment--So give up
Earthly ties,' was his admonition.
His divine Feet are my amulet. "
During the flower offering everyone chants the 108 names of Gurudeva that were crafted by Pundit Mylvaganam of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
There are many beautiful names:
To The Master of Yoga, Salutations.
To The One Whose Shakti Fills the Home Shrine, Salutations.
To Him who is the light of the Natha Sampradaya, Salutations.
......
The fire is kept blazing throughout the Guru puja.
Ever present here and with us 24 hours a day, just as he said he would be... Gurudeva is strong and active on the inner planes, like an inner wind pushing us all onward, upward and inward!
After the puja some of the devotees stay for prasadam.
We have longtime devotees, the Thamby Kumaran family visiting from California for a couple weeks to soak up the shakti, sun, sand and surf. Next to Thamby in the photo are his sons Jai (age 19) and Hara (age 12), and his wife Mala.
Thamby put a great deal of energy into helping with Iraivan Temple in the earlier conceptual, design stages and is thrilled to see the temple finally manifesting physically.
A designer himself by profession, the last time he was here was for the foundation stone-laying ceremony in 1995. He was also present at Kailash Ashram in Bangalore, India for the first stone chipping in 1990.
Jai and Hara offer worship at the Siva Lingam on the path of the Saiva Saints. We all knew Jai when he was just a little baby and today he's over six-feet tall! He's following in his father's footsteps and is studying archtecture at college.
It is always a joyful moment to personally bathe the magnificent Narmada Siva Lingam.
