 The blessed feet of Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, who wrote [excerpts from the Master Course Trilogy]: "The great Vedic rishis have explained that Siva has created the body of the soul, permeated that body with His being, His essence. All souls are evolving back to His holy feet, and there are many lessons to be learned along the way." "We visit a Siva temple after bathing, dressing in clean clothes and preparing an offering, which can be as simple as a few flowers or fruits. We bring the mind to the holy feet of the Deity even as preparations begin. Aum" "By following the ancient path of dharma, we avoid all this suffering and mental pain and bring ourselves into positive, creative and productive states of consciousness, bringing us ever closer and closer to the holy feet of God Siva. "Prostration at the holy feet of the satguru has been performed in Hindu India and Sri Lanka for thousands of years. It's an ancient custom and a very valuable one, because it separates the people who can prostrate from those who cannot. It separates the deeper souls from those still going through the intellectual and instinctive areas of the mind. It allows the aspirant himself to know where he is on the path, and it allows the satguru to know at a glance, without thought, where the seeker is on the spiritual path by the emanations out of the spine as he prostrates himself face down before him. " "Then, finally, we are standing on the muladhara chakra rather than on the talatala chakra. Then, finally, our feet are standing on the svadhishthana chakra, and so on. And this is the true meaning of the holy feet. Finally, we are standing in the lotus of the manipura chakra. And doubly finally, the kundalini coils up in the head and lives there rather than at the bottom of the spine."

It was as very high-minded group of sincere souls whose lives are dedicated to helping others.
Bodhinatha addressed issues of the day where leaders are characterizing others as "evil," and he explained the Hindu point of view that does not believe that anyone is intrinsically evil.
He also spoke about Hinduism in practical terms... that Hinduism is all about become a better person... always keep striving to be a better person, to be more compassionate, more refined every day.
One of the guests was a seven-year old girl who, at the temple site, heard that the fund raising for the temple was from people all over the world. She immediately reached in her pocket and gave all the money she had to our tour guide saying "Here, this is for the temple!"
We gave them a taste India's famous medicinal herb: the bitter neem tree. Everyone tries a leaf.
Meanwhile yesterday afternoon another group, we don't know who, though we think they are coming to visit in a day or so, left signs of great devotion at the Rudraksha forest where they decorated the entrance with garlands...
They went inside to our small Ganesha shrine...
And also completely adorned Him.
Jai Ganesha! It made us think of the future, when 1000's will be coming, and we may have no idea who they all are....
We caught Muruganathaswami at work at his desk where he is actively taking care of travel arrangements for Bodhinatha's trip to Toronto in April which is shaping up very well... In fact a devotee was prepared to engage the stadium and bring the Mayor of Toronto and invite 17 thousand Hindus for a grand event! Bodhinatha opted for a slightly smaller scale, more religious program at a temple. He responded, "Fine, we need to find a temple that will hold at least 2,000 people." We are looking forward to a grand mission there.
Sannyasin Shanmuganathaswami, Talaivar of the Pillaiyar Kulam. He is taking over, among many other things, the quarterly print run communications with the printer... today he prepared the mailing lists and distribution orders for the April-May issue of Hinduism Today which will go to press in two days time.

The sanctum of Iraivan is slowly unveiled as the silpis now move down, course by course, removing the retaining walls and sand and putting on the final touches.
We had a nice rain today and the temple is all fresh and clean.
If you sit on this small half log bench on the west side of the temple under the rudraksha trees, you will get this great view of Iraivan:
It is easy to visualize from here the full extent of the finished temple.
Meanwhile this pile of coconuts will be wisked away this afternoon by the Ganapati Kulam.
900 of these kekis (little ones) are going to Himalayan Acres tomorrow to be planted.
Despite resting on the top of the ground these cocos are doing just fine. One day you will be able to walk across the river and see this one standing tall across from the Iraivan Temple
