Bodhinatha has been working on editing the first vows taken by those young men interested in monastic life. They are called the "Aspirant Vows."
Bodhinatha's Sun One Video. Most Recent update: September 12, 2003. Bodhinatha speaks on Ahimsa, noninjury, yama #1, which is noninjury in thought, word and deed. The law of karma decrees that it is wise not to harm or hurt others, for we will then receive harm and hurt in exchange in the future. 12 minutes, 29 seconds.
Today is Ekadasi Tithi on the waxing moon just a few days before the full moon and is this month's Ashram Sadhana day. All day the monks are cleaning various areas of the monastery and special clean up in their offices. Here is Sannyasin Saravananathaswami cleaning a small display of auspicious items. He has a small waterfall driven by a tiny electric pump that circulates water over a small stack of carefully placed rocks. Here he is making some small adjustments to the mini-water falls.
This is in the center of the Ekadanta Kulam office.. and includes some crystals and a brass statue of one of the Saiva saints.
There is a another such "water fall" in the corner of the Lambodara Kulam office. Yogi Mahadevan takes out the stones, and cleans up the basin and puts it all back again.
Others are here and there cleaning various areas that they would normally not get to on a daily basis.
Now for a trip to Singapore....
 Saiva Siddhanta Church Singapore Mission
Skanda Shasti is an important festival in our tradition and our members around the world observe the six days of worship and special sadhanas. Thamilmani Visakan reports from Singapore:

Verti Vel Muruganuku, Aharagarogara !
Skanda Shasti, a six-day festival celebrating the tremendous struggle between the forces of asuric darkness, represented by Surapadma, and the forces of light and dharma, represented by Lord Skanda and his Vel. This battle lasted six days.
During these six days, devotees meditate deeply on Lord Muruga with great devotion. They meditate on the six aspects of the Lord, as represented by His different faces: courage, grace, love, wisdom, bliss and sympathy for all beings.
On 29th Nov 03, Saiva Siddhantha Church Ü Singapore Mission, observed the 5th day of Skanda Shasti at Sri Shivan Temple in Geylang East. This event has been observed for more than a decade by our ïsmall' Singapore mission.
In the morning, a special abhishekam for performed for Lord Muruga. Lord Muruga, was bathed in milk, honey, ghee, sandalwood paste, vibuthi, yogurt and many other holy substances.
In the evening, was the Lord Muruga's chariot procession. Before the start of the chariot procession, a special puja was conducted for Lord Muruga.
Carrying the prasadam is the temple priest, with the musicians: nadaswaram and tavil, who went round the temple before the start the puja.
Our wonderful ïShaktis' carrying the offerings for Lord Muruga.
Lord Muruga ready to be paraded around the sanctum.
The Holy Vel, in procession around the sanctum.
Vel Vel Muruga, Vetri Vel Muruga
Lord Muruga receiving the Holy Vel, the golden spear of knowledge, light and victory.
Chariot procession, with the music of nadaswaram and tavil, one could feel the presence of Lord Muruga. May Lord Muruga destroys our ego with His great golden Vel and reveal our original, shining Self.
Our members and families receive prasadam at the end of the ceremonies.

Cybertalk: Bodhinatha holds a class during Gurudeva's mahasamadhi observances about Gurudeva continues to live on in all of our lives since his mahasamadhi. Part 1 is about how Gurudeva influences us from the inner planes. We can continue to attune ourselves to Gurudeva through reading his books. When we do this before sleep at night we will probably be with Gurudeva in the inner planes during sleep.
