Sadhu Paksha Day Three....

"Think it over carefully. Go in for intuitive guidance. And nobody knows better than yourself, your own superconscious being, what is to be the next set of experiential patterns for you to go through in your quest for enlightenment. It's all based on decisions. Don't expect someone to make decisions for you. They are second-hand, not the best. Others maybe can give a little bit of advice or supply a different perspective or added information for you to make a better decision. But the decision you make yourself in any matter is the most positive, most powerful one, and should be the right one. Do it from the eternity of the moment. That is the state of awareness to hold."

Earlier in the morning he had placed nine gems, copper, silver and gold coins into this special stone that was later placed into the capstone.... as you will soon see.

We have what is called a "Hawaiian Blessing" for today's job. Rain and even some thunder and lightening. It as if the Gods had come to do their own puja and abhishekam during the event.

The team attaches the giant hook to the specially crafted piece that is passed through the stone.

Local Kauai Mission members braved the rain to watch... The rule was, no one allowed on the foundation and no distractions for the crane operators.

We have final lift off!

Up and away

Almost there.

Down through the top.

Very, very slowly, 15,000 pounds of granite comes down to rest for the next 1,000 years.

In we go through the opening in the "tent top."

Surprise! Our crane operator is none other than Kulapati Durvasa Alahan. As it turned out the only crane on the island that was suitable for this job is the very same machine that he operates on his job. What a great karma he has to have this opportunity.

Every one watches the progress

The lift from the southwest corner view.

Larry Conklin, our usual operator for a smaller crane, guides Durvasa. He has a cell phone and talks with Yoginathaswami and the silpis who are up above waiting.

Up, up....

As it turned out we were right at the limits of the crane's abilities.

Lights are flashing inside the cab telling us that we've reached the limit for weight and distance, but Durvasa knows his machine, and takes it ever so slowly...

Down we go...

easy, easy....

Durvasa handles the controls with a feather touch...

two feet more...

Almost home....

Eight inches....

Six inches....

Two inches....

Just 1/2 an inch now... the stone hovers of its final resting place as the silpis turn it into place. And then... "Down!"

It's a joyful moment for everyone, especially the silpis. Especially magical today was that the stone landed in it's exact position and did not require even an 1/8th inch adjustment of position. Sthapati says this is the first time this has happened...

Chinnu admires the beautiful piece.

Next, the stone with gems from Bodhinatha are placed into the opening at the top of the capstone.

These gems are directly above the spot where the crystal Sivalingam will be, way down below in the inner sanctum...

Filling in the hole with mortar.

And now, the puja....

Yoginathaswami watches... it's a great moment for him and the Siddhidata Kulam who have been providing all the back up for the temple all these years.

Arati....

Jai Gurudeva! Who is no doubt enjoying this moment also from the inner worlds.

Here's the whole team. Congratulations to them all!

There is a sense of fulfillment and completion in the air, as if beings in all Three worlds are happy and at rest as the capstone itself has come to rest...

Next the Maha Padma... a small lotus stone that goes on top of the capstone... goes up...

Tim DelaVega, Kauai's master photographer, is on hand to take special photos of the event for future publication work.. He is so delighted and completely soaked! But he loves the rain and called it a "Hawaiian Blessing." Indeed we were blessed today in Hawaii!

Well, our 'Living with Siva' sutra today, Lesson 12.

"All seekers of truth must endeavor to be the best in whatever they do, to excel and make a difference. However, they should remain apart from the demeaning and contentious, "winner and loser" spirit of competition."

That is a very good thing for us to caution all of the sishya. when you get to be with people, who are 'put-down' people, demeaning or contentious or argumentative. They are the 'winner-and-loser' people. They enjoy seeing somebody else suffer just a little bit. It gives them a thrill. It is their lower nature. Wisdom is to stay away from those people. Avoid their company. They change your home shrine quality.
