 Today was the ever auspicious Chitra Pada puja day for our beloved Gurudeva. Here is the shrine at the end of the puja, held this morning at 6:00 am.  Bodhinatha with Venkatakrishnan and his wife Sheela. Venkatakrishnan and Sheela, our dynamic Sivathondars, were key figures in organising the events that took place in Chennai. They worked with Nellaiappan closely and together they made arrangements on our behalf for events during the Odyssey. They also followed the group throughout the tour providing a vital local connection that helped things go smoothly. This was their second Innersearch. Their first was with Gurudeva on that historic 2001 European Innersearch - a rare time shared by only a few just before Gurudeva's passing. Always responsive and eager to help and do more, the mathavasis here are so grateful for your tireless contribution. Thank you very much to you both for everything! They moved to India a few years ago and now live in Chennai. Sheela has also been helping with our publications, transcriptions of Gurudeva's and Bodhinatha's audio. Venkatakrishnan is also helping now to promote Hinduism Today in Chennai area.
 The pada puja begins... "In the hearts of the saints in benign grace So that all may attain liberation. He is the speechless Guru, the immaculate Sivam." --Tirumantiram  "One Word, a wondrous Word, there is which in itself contains All other words; by it is cleansed The soul of all its stains. It is the Word the Guru gave, One Word, unmoving goal."  Chandanam followed by arati... ""Thou camest as the Silent Teacher mine, Ready to grant all boons however rare, And with a mother's love Thou didst unfold Decking my head with those Blessed Feet of Thine,..." --Tayumanavar  The Eternal Law of wisdom's ecstasy. Bereft of thought or holy word revolved The superconscious Vision beyond all thought Of Freedom's final state as one or two, As Light or Void or Form or Primal Sound. Such is Beatitude. So hast Thou taught. Grant me thy Grace, O Lord, to live that life Wherein are steeped time honored lovers thine. O Thou Siddhanta's Goal and Prime Essence! O Dhakshinamurthi that dost shine aloft On Trichi's hill, O master of Wisdom's Bliss!" --Tayumanavar  Palanisamy and Renuka Subramaniam from Pittsburg came today. A friend of them who was here a year ago told them about the monastery.  Raj, Pushpa and Arun. Arun is an electrical engineer from Orange County, California. His parents are visiting from New Delhi and had a surprise at the Princeville hotel when the concierge told them that there is a Hindu Monastery here on Kauai.
 We bring you a small blacksmith documentary today, dull chisels going into the hot forge...  When the tip of the iron starts to get soft, it's time to pass off the chisel....  Chinnu is in the back, turning the hand crank on the forge bellows.  The hot chisel is given with tongs to the silpi who does the actual sharpening.  Turning and pounding the tip on the stone, a new sharp point is formed and the chisel is put into cold water to harden.
 We continue with our Innersearch story of the three days in Malaysia... the big public event continues... ~~~~~~~~~~~ After Bodhinatha lights the first wick of the lamp each of the swamis comes forward to do one more. Paramacharya Palaniswami...  Acharya Kumarswami  Sannyasin Natarajnathaswami  Sannyasin Sivakatirswami  Thevaram recital by Athi Mulan, a devoted Thevaram othuvar who teaches Thevaram in many places.  Next on the evening roster, is the Natchintanai Choir by Kailasam Sinnathamby's students from CB temple, Klang.  Kulapathi's enjoying the beautiful recital by these children...  Palaniswami delivers a beautiful speech... "We are all touched by the overwhelming love shown by the Malaysia members."  Dr. Arjunan then imparts with us his captivating experience with Gurudeva. He gave a brilliant and concise statement of what he referred to as "the three most important things in my life," which were: Hinduism Today magazine The Iraivan Temple Project Gurudeva, Bodhinatha and the monastic order. with very well articulated reasons behind each of these three points. .... to be continued. Here we are just arriving at the Kandasamy Murugan temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We felt for sure that Lord Muruga and the devas were there for us because just as we arrived, lightening flashed right over the temple! This is a magnificent temple and very powerful. If you go to Malaysia, make a point to go for evening puja and meditation.  Our Innersearchers climb up to Batu caves. Natarajnathaswami and Sadhaka Dandapani take a moment's break up the step to look back... it's a wonderful view.  At the base of Batu caves, the new wave of giant Hindu Gods that is manifesting in various parts of the world... here is Lord Hanuman. Others, even taller are in the works.
