Saint Tirumular wrote about the Satguru: "He who is beyond the worlds, He dwells This morning we had the wonderful opportunity of hosting Sadashivanandaswamigal from Tiruvannamalai, India. Though born in the United States of America, he has lived in India as a monk for more than 30 years. Soon after finishing college in America, Swamiji went to Tiruvannamalai in the early 70's. While he was there Bhagawan Ramana Maharishi had blessed him to become a monk in a mystical way. After travelling for a while in India he settled down in Anandamayi Ma's Ashram in Bengal and accepted Ma as his Guru. Soon thereafter receiving Sannyas from a Sankaracharya Swami and was ordained a Sannyasin in the Giri order. Bodhinatha's next travel is to Atlanta, Georgia, and Bethesda, Maryland. Please visit his travel page for more information.
After Anandamayi Ma's Mahasamadhi, he continued serving in his Guru's ashram with much dedication for thirty-two years and is now living as a hermit in Tiruvannamalai, the abode of Lord Siva as Arunachala, the Holy Mountain practising pranava japa and meditation as instructed by his Guru. We were blessed to have such a clear high soul and brother with us today. Vijendra and Atrun Nisha Prasad visited from San Bruno, California. It was their first visit to Kauai Aadheenam and they were encouraged to come here by their son who visited Kauai last year. They are subscribers to Hinduism Today and told Bodhinatha in their meeting with him how much they enjoy reading it. They said the only sad thing about it is that they have to wait 3 months before they see the next issue. Mr & Mrs Shah from Texas are here on pilgrimage. Their sole purpose of visiting Kauai is to visit the temple and do sadhana. They are also subscribers of Hinduism Today and Mr. Shah today bought all 3 books of Gurudeva's Trilogy. They had a wonderful meeting with Bodhinatha who shared with them his next Publisher's Desk article "Work is Worship". The Shah's also enjoyed a tour of the grounds and Iraivan. The Swayambhu Lingam of San Marga carries a deep forcefield of all-pervasive shanti, peace, Satchidananda... While guests were coming and going our monks are hard at work. Together, the Pilliyar Kulam and Lambodara kulam pull together the San Marga newsletter each month. Sannyasin Shanmuganathswami here downloads addresses from our data base which are merged into the newsletter file. Yogi Mahadeva handles the newsletter content, writes the news, updates the calendar and coordinates the editing and also is responsible for the printing. It's only two days to Iraivan day and we need to get them all printed in time for the monks to do the mailing. It was one of those remarkable Kauai days with brilliant sunshine and color alternating with occasional light showers that gently bless and refresh...
