Vedic Lifestyle

Today Gurudeva talks about the four sacrifices of Vedic life, to the Gods, to the ancestors, to the animals and to the community. He says many people are saying they want to "live the Vedic life," but how many are really willing to do it? Sacrifice means giving up, giving up in devotion to the Gods, honoring the ancestors, honoring the animals, not "eating every one of them," and be a producer and contributor to the community instead of a taker.

Go on a pilgrimage once a year, read scriptures daily, perform puja daily, go to the temple at least once a week, if not more often--fulfill these disciplines, known as the pancha nitya karmas. This is the basic Saiva Siddhanta sadhana.
